Welcome to Advancements+! This data pack adds over 500 new advancements to the game for you to explore and tackle. From surviving your First Night to killing every mob variant within your world, this pack has something for everyone. With more being added every update, you're bound to enjoy your time or struggle greatly completing this pack. Here's what we have:
-
Said advancements were carefully designed to be done on every world, from easy Survival to impossible Hardcore. Due to this, there will be no advancements related to the player dying. Anything else is fair game unless Hardcore prevents it from happening.
-
This pack is designed to be added with other data packs and / or modpacks
- As I'm not sure how well this pack will work with other advancement packs (BACAP for example), please be careful if you intend to add both. It shouldn't mess with modpacks that add new advancements either, but I'd heed a warning against that as well. Do it at your own will.
Currently, this datapack includes 13 tabs in total:
Tabs List
Smelting
Fire up the Furnace! Smelting has gotten its own tab! Generally, furnaces are used to smelt ores for you to upgrade gear, but there are a handful of other things that can be smelted. Can you find them all?
Ocean
Go for a swim! The ocean is vast and ready for exploration. Why not add some goals to keep you occupied? Find the wrecks of those who sailed before you, or snack on some Kelp. The ocean is your oyster.
Friends & Food
The tastes of the world await you! The Husbandry tab has been refined and redesigned to include your fluffy friends or your next meal. Food is food, however you end up getting it. Will they be your friends, or will you hunt them down?
First Night
Welcome to your new world! The Minecraft tab has been rebuilt from the ground up to guide you through your first night in the world. There are some tiny random advancements in there too, but this has been tested and is completable within the first night. The world awaits, what adventures will it hold?
Redstone
Circuitry at its finest! Redstone is in charge of running electricity throughout the world, capable of amazing things. Jumbo computers, small doors, or moving that one block you can't find a use for otherwise. Huh, I guess it can be used for everything.
Iron
The Iron age is upon us! Level up your game with a new set of armor, a sweet blade, and other random things that require Iron to craft. Shiny and new, that's the goal for you.
Updated Nether
Tour the fiery dimension below! As is the tradition, the Nether tab has been updated to include advancements for every biome found there...except the Nether Wastes, there's nothing there. The name holds up! Adventure through the biomes, hunt down forests and bastions, and make sure you escape alive.
Mining
Spelunk your way through the caves on your quest to mine every block found below the surface. If you can mine it, it's in here. You can even go as far as polishing some of the blocks you find! How low will you go?
Brewing (Coming Soon)
Think you know how potions work? Bring out your inner alchemist as you try to complete this fresh tab, filled with potions and challenges alike!
Updated Adventure
Adventure awaits! Exploration allows you to find new biomes, defeat challenging enemies, and explore lost structures. With this updated tab, you're sure to find a list of advancements that are bound to waste your time or give cause for further travels. An adventurer's dream!
The Updated End
The end of it all! While this advancement tab is as barren as its namesake dimension, The End tab has been updated with a few new advancements to help make exploration that much more entertaining. Or, you know, painful. Depends how you see it. Be sure to collect the next generation on your way home.
Copper
Call the Copper, it has its own tab! This resource has a number of uses for you to discover. Find a Grate...or two, level up your armor, or discover a dose of nostalgia with a forgotten friend. There are endless opportunities, it's just a matter of how much you're willing to mine.
Caves
The caves call to you. Every world has its secrets, from Sulfur Caves hiding below to the Deep Dark all the way at the bottom. The Ancient City hides valuable loot, the Lush Caves offer underground serenity, and the Dripstone Caves give exploration a dangerous point. Which will you find first, and will you find them all?

"Hop To It" has had its description updated - Iron
"Not Included In Sunscreen" now stems from the Nether Tab root - Nether
The Mining Tab root has had its logo updated to match the one shown on this page
During last update, I had to re-add all of Minecraft's default advancements. Due to this, some of their frames are entirely reset. I fixed what I could find, but if you find one that I've missed please send in a report so I can change it back. Thank you!
Other Changes:
The message popups for unlocking tabs should now be fixed
The message that appears for unlocking the Nether Tab has been updated to be purple, as a reflection of a Nether Portal, rather than a dirty red, a reflection of Netherrack.
The Brewing tab has been given an unlock message, coloured pink to reflect the potion shown as the tab's icon
FAQ:
How Do I Submit a Bug Report?
If you have any suggestions or bugs to report, you can use the attached Google Form to send them directly to me. Any information necessary will be kept until the bug is fixed, at which point I will delete it as if it never existed. Please don't come asking for more advancements. I am constantly updating the pack with new advancements. Some updates may add more than others. If you do submit a suggestion for more advancements, you will be ignored.
Can I See the Code Behind the Data Pack?
Absolutely! Just look inside the folders of the data pack and each advancement will have the code there for you to view. In fact, it's entirely customizable!
Currently, the datapack version is the easiest to customize since that was what it was originally made to be, but if you know how to edit the mod versions then be my guest. License restrictions still apply. All my advancement files and tab folders have the same name as what they're called in the game, so if you want one removed, look for that file name and drag it out of the pack entirely to disable it. Once that is done, use /reload in-game to reload the pack and ensure it is disabled. Your progress will not be lost when you do so.
Do be warned that getting rid of certain advancements may cause the entire advancement tree to go invisible. It still works, it just is not visible without that specific missing advancement. You may not know if you have all the advancements if that's the case. Proceed with caution.
How Do I Know What Each Advancement Is?
There is a document, linked above, that tells you what each advancement is, what it references (if applicable), and how to obtain it. It also ignores Mojang/Microsoft's vanilla advancements, this is only for my custom ones. I will try and update it with each update I release to keep it up to date with the latest information. Please note: The document will not include update details. That will stay on this Modrinth page here. It only says the advancements themselves and how to obtain them (plus references if applicable).
Thank you to Vexalor for this idea!
When Can I Expect A New Update?
If there is a major update to Minecraft on its way, I will always try to update the pack to align with its release unless I am physically unable to. Either way, an announcement at the top of the pack description will be added so you know of the planned release date.
I may release smaller patches before said date to fix bugs or address missing features in which I tend not to announce it. There are situations where I will announce a patch with changes, but I don't release many patches before major updates.
Major Updates: 1.x (Ex: 1.1, 1.2, etc.)
Minor Updates: 1.x.x (Ex: 1.1.1, 1.2.3, etc.)
How Can I Contact You?
You can contact me through my email at ogmfortnite@gmail.com, Twitter @OWindyfur, or Discord @windyfur! I'll be happy to respond. Just make your intent clear so I don't suspect spam. Please only contact me if you have read the FAQ and your question or issue has not been answered. If it is a bug, I request that you go through the bug report form first. I check that periodically and I can easily fix any issues that arise when I check. I may also contact you if you allow me to through the method you provided me in the same form.
Put 500% into this pack, try to find all the hidden references, and, most importantly, have fun!
Good luck!

"Disc Jockey" now shows the "Bounce" music disc as its icon - Mining Tab

Block
Stairs
Slab
Wall
Due to this, the advancement will need to be regained. As well, its description has been updated to match. - Nether Tab
"Not Again" (Nether Version) has been renamed to "No Way..." as to not confuse between this advancement and the advancement in the Ocean Tab of the same name. This advancement will need to be regained. - Nether Tab
"Subspace Bubble" has had its icon changed from an empty map to a filled map
The Nether tab has had its icon changed from Red Nether Bricks to Crimson Nylium for a bit of a more modern look.
Please be aware that many advancement criteria had to be rewritten and updated to follow the newer model added with this update. Due to this, many will need to be regained again. I do not know how many got messed with, so I do apologize in advance.
### **README Updates:**
The "README" file included with the data pack upon download (that many probably will never read) has been updated with the following:
ethanslife101 credit for recommending the icon
"Tested for usability in Survival and Hardcore mode" has been moved from the "CREDITS" section to the "NOTES" section just above
Updated the project link under "FEEDBACK & UPDATES"
Added more direct wording for step 3 in the "INSTALLATION" section. It now explains that you only need to type "/reload" in chat if you have previously loaded the world without the data pack installed.
Steps 1 and 2 have been given a bit more clarity under the same section.
Still under "INSTALLATION," a disclaimer has been added saying that the steps below are for the data pack version of this project originally. The installation guide for the modded versions will follow sometime in the future.
"FEATURES" now states that the pack "reshuffles and rebalances vanilla advancement tracking," changed from just saying "...rebalances vanilla advancements." This was done since I don't touch the vanilla advancement criteria, only changed where each advancement is routed.
"Clean install. No mods, no fuss" has been removed from the "FEATURES" section because I do technically port the data pack to mod loaders, making that statement inaccurate.
### **License Updates:**
Three new sections have been added. This goes as follows: Section 1 "Acceptance of Terms," Section 7 "Disclaimer of Warranty & Liability," and Section 8 "Termination." Please ensure you read these sections carefully and understand what they mean.
Due to these sections being added, the former numbers have been moved down one. For example, the former Section 4 "Modifications" is now Section 5. This applies license-wide. The new numbers are: Section 1 "Acceptance of Terms," Section 2 "Ownership & Rights," Section 3 "Allowed Usage," Section 4 "Sharing & Distribution," Section 5 "Modifications," Section 6 "Language Support," Section 7 "Disclaimer of Warranty & Liability," and Section 8 "Termination."
The section within the license regarding use of any AI within the project has been removed. This is due to Modrinth rules now requiring a disclosure of AI directly on the page, meaning I'd activate it should I be using AI. Nothing changes, no AI has or will be used, but that section is no longer needed.
Further, the word "art" has been added to Section 2.1 "Intellectual Property" of the license to protect the art of the logo on the Modrinth page, done entirely by me, without the use of any form of help, such as friends, commissions, AI, or any other means.
Section 3.3 "Crediting" has been tightened on wording, now saying that you must include a link to this Modrinth page. This is to avoid possible future confusion since before, it sounded like adding a link was optional. Now, you must do so if you plan to publish any content (videos, photos, etc.) regarding the pack.
Section 5.2 "Public Derivatives" now lists examples of prohibited public sharing. Publicly sharing a modified version still requires direct consent from me. See the license for further details.
Section 4 has been reworked. It now reads with Sections 4.1 "Official Source," 4.2 "No Commercial Use," and 4.3 "Pack Bundling." Please ensure to review these terms and check for specific details within the license itself.
Section 6.2 "Translations" has been added to cover fan translations of the data pack. These are generally allowed as long as they are privately used rather than being publicly available as they do still count as derivatives (as mentioned under Section 5). If you do wish to make it publicly available, you will be required to contact me to either publish it yourself or have the translation added directly onto the pack.
Wording has been tightened overall in the license, but not to the extent that anything else has been changed.
### **Other Changes:**
A new tag ("is_snowy_mountain") has been added, which includes the following biomes:
Jagged Peaks
Snowy Slopes
Frozen Peaks
Grove
This was added for ease of reference on a certain advancement (see "Added Advancements") and has no impact on overall gameplay.
The pack logo has been updated for 26.3 "Wilderness Bound." Thank you to ethanslife101 for helping suggest an icon for this update's logo.
The document of all advancements has been updated to reflect the new changes brought with this update.
The FAQ has been updated on this page for what I believe is the first time since I made it. Nothing crazy, just changing wording and formatting. The tab of "Can I See the Code Behind the Data Pack" was originally "Is This Mod Customizable" and that question is still answered under the same tab. I just changed it to make room for a more general answer to begin.
With this update, the pack has now reached over 500 new advancements! This does not include the Mojang-original ones that I have edited, these 500 are solely brand new and exclusive to the pack. I want to say thank you to each and every one of you that have downloaded this pack, played it, helped me with bugs, and continue to support this small idea I've had. This was started as a passion project a year ago which is why you see no advertising for it (yet), so the fact that it got this far is beyond what I even imagined was possible. Thank you. This wouldn't be where it is now without you.
Please note that there will be no advancements for the blocks added in 26.3-snapshot-7 or beyond during this initial release. A patch is planned in the following days after the update to address that and a few other changes. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

- Please note: If you already had the datapack downloaded before downloading this update, the logo may not update itself. If that is the case, don't worry. It will still work.**

This patch is small because most of the planned content was included with the previous release. Enjoy!

- Outside of the game, the logo, quick view, and description of the pack are all updated to reflect the new drop.
- The "Copper" Tab gets expansions! Most of the update is now included in this tab.
- In terms of new content besides advancements, an entirely new tab called "Caves" has been added. The photo of it is in the Project Gallery page for your viewing.
- Advancements were added across all the tabs to make you suffer more.
- The "First Night" Tab has been made easier by removing a handful of unnecessary advancements and reordering them
- The Shelf does not have any advancements tied to it yet. I need to find a sustainable way to add them without redundancy.
- Speaking of redundancy, I reduced some advancements into one to avoid you needing to get each one for a separate advancement. Not all of them are updated, but a couple are.
- Content from the _Chase The Skies_ Drop is now included with this update as well if it wasn't before. A couple include the Music Discs (L-l-l-lava...?) and the Harness.
- The total number of advancements now surpasses 400! Have fun.
As always, if you find issues, please report them as soon as you can so I can sort them out.
Thank you. Happy mining!
(**For the mods that this pack works with, please ensure that you have downloaded the right version for these too as well as their required mods as they will not load if there is a version mismatch**)
