## 3.3.4 - Minecraft 26.3 Compatibility Fix
Available for both **Fabric** and **NeoForge**.
### Fixed
- Crash on Minecraft 26.3 when a ranged mob switched to melee.** Skeletons, Strays, Pillagers, Piglins and any mob listed in
customRangedMobscould crash the game or server the moment they swung their melee weapon at a player. - Same crash risk in the fallback melee behavior** used for ranged mobs that are not standard pathfinding mobs.
- Passive Mob Aggression on Fabric** used the same attack animation call and is now protected as well.
- NeoForge failed to start on Minecraft 26.3.** NeoForge 26.3 renamed its
COMMONconfig type toLOCAL, which stopped the mod from loading. BuffMobs now detects the correct type automatically, so it works on 26.1, 26.2 and 26.3.
- NeoForge crash on Minecraft 26.3 during melee hits.** The knockback sync used a field that no longer exists in 26.3. It is now resolved safely at runtime.
### Improved
- Melee swing animations are now handled in a version-safe way, so the mod keeps working across Minecraft 26.1, 26.2 and 26.3.
- If a swing animation ever cannot be played, the mob still attacks normally and a warning is logged instead of crashing.
### Notes
- No configuration changes. Your existing config files keep working as-is.
- No gameplay changes: melee and kite behavior, weapons, enchantments and scaling are unchanged.

Welcome to the latest update of **BuffMobs**! This release brings two major quality-of-life improvements: more flexible dimension scaling and a complete overhaul of passive mob aggression. Read on to see what’s new.
## 🚀 New Features
### 1. Dimension Scaling – Choose Your Mode
Previously, dimension multipliers always stacked with other modifiers. Now you can decide how they apply:
- SCALING** *(default)* – the classic behaviour: dimension values multiply with your global attribute multipliers, day scaling, and presets.
- OVERRIDE** – dimension values directly replace the base stats of the mob, ignoring all other multipliers (except presets if you choose to override them). This gives you full control over per‑dimension difficulty.
You’ll find the new dropdown in the config screen under *Dimension Scaling → Mode*.
### 2. Passive Mob Aggression – Three States, More Control
The old on/off toggle is gone. In its place, a three‑state selector lets you fine‑tune how passive mobs behave:
- OFF** – passive mobs stay completely vanilla (no retaliation, no buffs).
- NEUTRAL** – mobs will fight back when hit (like vanilla neutral mobs) and **receive all mod buffs** (health, damage, speed, etc.).
- HOSTILE** – mobs become actively hostile toward players on sight and **also receive all buffs**.
Now you can turn any passive mob into a real threat – perfect for challenging survival runs or custom map packs.
> **Note:** When NEUTRAL or HOSTILE is selected, affected mobs are treated exactly like hostiles for buff application, so they scale with your global settings, day scaling, and presets.
## ⚙️ Configuration Updates
- The config GUI (Cloth Config) now includes the new mode selectors for both features.
- The
passiveMobAggression.enabledoption has been removed – upgrade your config or let the mod regenerate it with the new default values.
## 🛠️ Under the Hood
- Refactored buff application logic to support the new dimension mode.
- Passive mob AI now dynamically switches between
HurtByTargetGoal(neutral) andNearestAttackableTargetGoal(hostile) based on the selected mode. - Cleaned up debug commands to reflect the new setting.
As always, your feedback is welcome! Enjoy the new flexibility and happy hunting. 🎮

Hello everyone! It's been a while since the last update as there were no new Minecraft versions or open GitHub issues to address. However, thanks to [elhertz (Hertz)](https://github.com/elhertz), who provided great suggestions and reported several bug fixes, we have a brand new update!
## 🚀 Key Features & Enhancements
- Health Synchronization System:**
- Implemented a health sync system to resolve an issue where mobs spawned with the total HP assigned by the mod without it being properly filled.
- Dimension Max HP Cap:**
- Added a configurable maximum HP ceiling per dimension, allowing you to set specific health limits for mobs depending on the dimension they spawn in.
- Preset Override System:**
- Added an option to choose whether a preset stacks its buffs on top of base additions or uses only the values specified within the preset itself.
## 🐛 Bug Fixes
- Zombie Leader Balance / Option:**
- In vanilla Minecraft, Zombie Leaders can naturally spawn with significantly higher HP. Combined with Buffmobs, this caused them to turn into nearly immortal tanks.
- Added a configuration option to disable Zombie Leader spawns.
- Note:* Since there is no simple way to reliably force-spawn this mob variant in code for testing, please report any continuing issues on our GitHub: [https://github.com/Khotyz/BuffMobs/issues](https://github.com/Khotyz/BuffMobs/issues).
## 📝 Developer Note
> "I attempted to overhaul the configuration GUI for this release, but it ended up causing more bugs than improvements so I decided to shelf it for now—graphic design is definitely not my passion! 😅
>
> Thank you all for your continued support and for using **Buffmobs**!"
- Enjoy the new release! Feel free to leave feedback or report bugs on GitHub.*
