BuildCraft Community Edition
An unofficial community continuation of BuildCraft, bringing the classic BuildCraft experience to newer Minecraft versions.
BuildCraft Community Edition (BCCE) is based on the newer foundation of BuildCraft 8.0.0, while restoring mechanics and content from BuildCraft 7.1.27 that were not completed or carried over into BC8, including robotics and building-related features.
The goal of the project is to preserve and continue the classic BuildCraft experience on newer Minecraft versions, restoring missing content and completing unfinished ideas from the original mod without changing its core identity.

For Modpack Creators
Using BCCE in your modpack? I'd love to hear from you!
If you're a modpack creator using BCCE, please don't hesitate to reach out to me, no matter how small your modpack is. Whether it's played by thousands of people or just a small group of friends, I'm always happy to receive feedback and learn how BuildCraft fits into your project.
If you're experiencing compatibility issues, need integrations with other mods, or would benefit from additional configuration options to better fit BCCE into your modpack, feel free to get in touch. I'm more than willing to discuss your needs and work on improvements that could make BCCE a better fit for your project.
You can contact me through GitHub Issues, Discord DMs (@shipovskijkorp), or the My Discord server.
API v2.1
BuildCraft Community Edition provides a modern API v2, designed to offer a stable, loader-neutral interface for addons and integrations.
Version 2.1 significantly expands the public API, allowing addon developers to introduce custom pipe behaviours and flows, create new Robot Board programs, integrate custom machines and engines, and interact with BuildCraft's automation, robotics and blueprint systems.
The API exposes shared contracts through the buildcraft.api.v2 namespace, reducing the need for addons to depend on internal BuildCraft implementation classes.
The long-term goal is to make addons easier to develop and maintain across BCCE's supported Minecraft versions and future mod loader ports.

Localizations
Starting with BCCE 8.0.24, translations are included directly in the main mod. The separate BuildCraft Community Edition Localizations addon is no longer required or supported.
If you want to improve existing translations or add a new language, you can contribute to the BCCE Localizations repository.

This update focuses on robot navigation and automation, with smarter mining, more reliable docking and fixes for several long-standing edge cases. It also addresses crashes involving the Flood Gate, Guide Book and certain modded setups, and improves Blueprint safety.
### Important:
This update fixes a critical exploit that could allow players to place blocks without consuming the required resources.
All server owners are strongly advised to update BCCE immediately.
### Changes:
- Improved **Miner Robots**. They now look for the nearest reachable ore based on the actual route, then try to finish the same connected vein before moving to another deposit. Regular and deepslate variants of the same ore are treated as one vein, and mining progress is remembered after reloads.
- Improved **robot navigation and docking**. Robots can find longer, winding routes back to their stations, recalculate paths when obstacles change and wait for occupied or temporarily unavailable docks instead of immediately abandoning the journey. Gate-controlled station returns also remain active until the command is turned off, and short loading interruptions no longer break station links.
- Changed **Blueprint and Template size limits** to prevent extremely large designs from exhausting memory. Saved construction areas are now limited to **512 blocks per dimension** and **2,097,152 blocks in total**.
- Changed **Blueprint copying** so saved designs no longer restore stored items, fluids, energy or ownership data from machines. This prevents copied structures from creating free resources or inheriting another player's machine ownership.
### Fixes:
- Fixed the **Flood Gate** crashing when placing water or other fluids.
- Fixed **Planter Robots** ignoring saplings and crop seeds on Minecraft 1.21.11 and 26.x.
- Fixed **Guide Book** crashes caused by unsupported recipes from other mods, including Applied Energistics 2. Incompatible recipe entries are now skipped without crashing world loading or the entire Guide Book.
- Fixed **robots** breaking blocks or using tools twice while checking permissions. Attack Robots no longer chase targets outside their assigned work area, and failed Stripes Pipe interactions are no longer treated as successful actions.
- Fixed **fluid-carrying robots** ignoring changed fluid filters or incorrectly accessing protected tanks and pipes during pumping, loading and unloading.
- Fixed **Delivery Robots** keeping old item requests after a job ends or is interrupted. Searching for requested items is also more efficient in large modpacks.
- Fixed the **Requester** treating different variants of the same item as interchangeable. Requests now respect item properties such as stored charge, while explicitly configured Item List filters still allow broader matching.
- Fixed **Builders** accepting altered Blueprints that could place entities outside the planned area or bypass material and p

This update focuses on modpack customization and shader compatibility. BuildCraft Community Edition now supports datapack-defined machine recipes, configurable recipe blacklists and optional balance settings for machines and robots. It also improves rendering with Oculus and Iris, although some minor shader-related visual artifacts may still remain.
### Changes:
- Added **JSON datapack recipes for the Distiller, Heat Exchanger, Integration Table and Programming Table**. Modpack creators can add or replace supported machine recipes and customize their inputs, outputs and energy costs without modifying BCCE's Java code. Built-in fluid-processing and robot-board recipes have been moved to datapack resources.
- Added **absolute recipe blacklists** for the Distiller, Heat Exchanger, Assembly Table, Integration Table, Programming Table, Auto Workbench and Advanced Crafting Table. A blacklist rule from any loaded datapack takes precedence over recipe replacements in other packs. Blocking an Auto Workbench or Advanced Crafting Table recipe does not disable ordinary manual crafting.
- Added **optional machine and robot balance configuration** through
config/buildcraft-machines.iniandconfig/buildcraft-robots.ini. Configurable values include supported machine energy and speed modifiers, Pump and Quarry parameters, and robot movement speed and energy consumption. Both files are generated automatically and can be enabled independently withuse_config = true; the original BCCE balance remains unchanged by default. - Improved **Oculus and Iris shaders compatibility**. Fixed major rendering problems affecting BuildCraft lasers, Volume Box outlines and translucent pipe components, including stained-glass Facades, Lenses and painted pipe overlays.
### Fixes:
- Fixed **Marker connections on Minecraft 1.21.1** appearing in incorrect positions or rotations, or rendering too dark when the camera moves or Sodium/Iris changes the lighting state.
- Fixed **Distillers retaining partially paid processing progress after a recipe is changed or blacklisted**. Unfinished energy is now refunded rather than being incorrectly applied to a different recipe, including when loading older incomplete jobs.

config/buildcraft-machines.iniandconfig/buildcraft-robots.ini.

### Changed:
- The game now refuses to start when the obsolete **BCCE Localizations** addon is installed alongside BCCE. Translations have been included in the main mod since 8.0.24, so the separate addon is no longer needed.
### Fixed:
- Fixed a **JEI crash on Minecraft 1.19.2 and 1.20.1 Forge** caused by incorrect Assembly Table recipe comparisons when refreshing Facade recipes. This could cause the game to crash shortly after joining a world.
