📦 Modpack Integration & Standalone Notice

[!NOTE] Designed for Modpacks: Cobblemon Cards is primarily designed and balanced to be played as part of a larger modpack. While everything has been built to ensure it works perfectly as a standalone mod (acting as a complete addon to Cobblemon), the gameplay loop, drop rates, and RPG stat rewards shine best when integrated alongside other mods, quests, and custom progression systems.

👤 Custom Player Cards

  • Using the Instant-Dex Scanner on another player while having a Card Structure Disk in your inventory will instantly consume the disk and print a Mythic Grade 10 Cosmetic Card featuring that player's Minecraft skin!
  • Note: Player cards are purely cosmetic and do not grant passive stat boosts.

👾 The Legendary MissingNo.

  • If you scan Pokémon during a Full Moon at night while affected by the Darkness effect, the fabric of reality glitches!
  • You will hear a haunting glitch scream and receive the legendary Mythic Grade 10 MissingNo. card, featuring a custom glitched pixel art texture and special stats!

👻 Ghost of Lavender Town

  • Scan Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Cubone, or Marowak near midnight (world time ticks 16000 to 20000) while standing on Soul Sand or Soul Soil.
  • Yields a Mythic Grade 10 Cosmetic Card featuring the spooky Lavender Town Ghost!

🌟 Divine Bidoof

  • Scan a wild Bidoof while holding a Golden Apple or an Enchanted Golden Apple in your off-hand.
  • Yields the legendary Mythic Grade 10 Cosmetic Card of Divine Bidoof!

💎 Crystal Onix

  • Scan a wild Onix while holding an Amethyst Shard in your off-hand.
  • Yields a Mythic Grade 10 Cosmetic Card featuring the stunning Crystal Onix!

🖤 Shadow Lugia

  • Scan a wild Lugia during a Thunderstorm while affected by the Wither status effect.
  • Yields a Mythic Grade 10 Cosmetic Card featuring the corrupted Shadow Lugia!

🏳️‍⚧️ Pride Sylveon

  • Scan a wild Sylveon while holding Pink Dye, Light Blue Dye, or White Dye (the colors of the Trans pride flag) in your off-hand.
  • Yields a Mythic Grade 10 Cosmetic Card of Pride Sylveon!

💝 You & Mew

  • Scan a wild Mew while carrying a custom Player Card (obtained from scanning another player) in your inventory.
  • Consumes both the Player Card and the structure disk, and yields the ultimate Mythic Grade 10 Cosmetic Card representing you and Mew!

🎵 Jukebox Holo-Music

  • Placing a Holo Projector or Advanced Holo Projector directly on top of a Jukebox and slotting in a card will trigger custom Pokémon music tracks!
  • The track played adapts dynamically based on the card's rarity, shiny status, or stats:

# Changelog — Cobblemon Cards

Changes by version. The V2 entry describes the prepared beta; it is not a stable-release announcement.

## 2.0.0-beta.1 — V2 beta

  • Target:** Minecraft 1.21.1, Java 21, Cobblemon 1.8.1; Fabric and NeoForge.

### Added

  • Additional **Experience**, **Catch Rate**, and **Shiny Chance** trainer bonuses without replacing a card's primary stat.
  • Trainer-bonus acquisition through high-grade grading/restoration and a configurable lucky chance on newly generated Legendary, Mythic, or Shiny cards.
  • Grade-dependent restoration durations: 3 seconds at target grade 2, 12 seconds at grade 5, and 27 seconds at grade 10 with the default settings.
  • Restoration settings in MidnightLib: restorerBaseProcessTime and restorerProcessTimePerGrade.
  • Egg-group and EV-yield spawn bonuses, each disabled by default and configurable separately.
  • A V2 gameplay/configuration guide and upgrade instructions in both READMEs.

### Changed

  • Migrated Fabric and NeoForge builds to **Cobblemon 1.8.1**, with compatible loader, Kotlin, Accessories, owo-lib, and supporting library versions centralized in gradle.properties.
  • Both loaders use **Accessories** to equip binders; Trinkets and Cardinal Components are not required by this addon.
  • Restoration is processed on the server while its chunk is loaded, continues after the GUI closes, and saves its progress. An active operation keeps its initial duration and cost; dust is spent once at completion.
  • Removing/replacing the card cancels restoration. Removing required dust pauses it until the machine is refilled.
  • MidnightLib configuration is organized into **General**, **Player**, **Spawning**, **Trainer**, **Machines**, and **Binders**, with colored headings and English/French labels and tooltips. Existing setting keys and values are preserved.
  • Global, stat-family, and individual stat multipliers allow separate balancing of player, spawning, and trainer bonuses. Spawn, experience, catch, and shiny multipliers have configurable caps.
  • Spawn bonuses modify eligible Pokémon's **spawn weights** before entity creation, preserving biome rules and spawn buckets. The stronger of a species' two elemental-type boosts is used; equipped binders are scanned every 40 ticks.
  • Flat player stats display without a percentage sign; percentage bonuses retain it. Formatting and application calculations share CardStatUtil.
  • Grading boosts card stat values by **3% per grade**, up to **30% at grade 10**.
  • Release JARs identify their loader: cobblemon-cards-fabric-2.0.0-beta.1.jar and cobblemon-cards-neoforge-2.0.0-beta.1.jar.

### Fixed

  • Extended the Card Restorer's card hitbox **2 pixels downward**.
  • Added missing configuration translations and ensured newly introduced configuration entries are written alongside existing settings.
  • Fixed Card Cabinet contents disappearing after restart in the affected 1.0.5 code. Previously lost cards cannot be recovered by this change; 1.0.4 and earlier saves remain readable.
  • Cabinet serialization failures are logged; one invalid stack no longer aborts saving the entire cabinet. Breaking/placing a cabinet no longer shares mutable stack instances with its stored contents component.
  • Corrected experience-bonus multiplication so fractional boosts are applied before rounding.

### Upgrade notes

  • Update Cobblemon and the dependencies listed in [README.md](README.md) for the chosen loader. Other Cobblemon addons need their own 1.8.1-compatible versions.
  • Existing configuration is retained: enableCardStats = false still disables passive bonuses. Existing cards keep their stored stats.
  • Existing cards without additional trainer fields and binders using the legacy container component remain readable.
  • Shiny bonuses multiply the base probability: **+600% = 7×**. With shinyRate = 8192, this gives approximately **1/1170 per new Pokémon**. The default 10× cap means bonuses beyond +900% do not further increase the chance.
  • See [the V2 guide](docs/V2_GUIDE.md) for restoration timing, trainer-bonus acquisition, and configuration.

### Validation and beta scope

  • Both loader builds and their packaged metadata/resources have been checked during the migration.
  • Both loaders initialized the addon and Cobblemon's Showdown service on Java 21. A NeoForge development server loaded a test world and all 1,025 species.
  • Targeted headless checks passed for restoration (**38**) and the Cobblemon 1.8.1 shiny event (**15**).
  • A full two-player dedicated-server session, existing-world upgrade playtests, and large-collection performance checks remain pending before declaring V2 stable.

# 📝 Changelog: v1.0.4

## 🐛 Bug Fixes
  • Right-Click Menu Crash (IndexOutOfBoundsException):** Fixed a server/client desync crash that occurred when right-clicking a Master Album in your hand while having a regular Binder equipped in your accessory slot. The menu logic now strictly differentiates between hotkey presses (which check the accessory slot first) and direct item interactions (which strictly open the clicked item).
  • Grainy Terrain / Mipmap Rendering Bug:** Fixed a major visual issue where distant terrain (especially tree leaves) appeared shimmering or pixelated when the mod was installed. This was caused by irregular texture dimensions (like 40x30 or 22x31) forcing Minecraft's texture atlas to drop the mipmap level from 4 to 0. All affected textures have been padded with transparent space to reach multiple-of-16 dimensions (e.g., 48x32, 32x32), restoring smooth distant rendering.

## 🎨 UI & Visual Polish
  • GUI UV Mapping Adjustments:** Updated the internal rendering code to perfectly offset the new transparent padding applied to the textures. Cards and Pokémon icons will continue to render exactly at their intended sizes without any visual shifting or misalignment.
  • Shiny Sprite Cleanup:** Removed the semi-transparent orange aura/glow artifacts from Shiny Pokémon icons (commonly found in HOME or newer generation sprites), giving them a much cleaner, authentic pixel-art look inside the binders.
  • Icon Standardization:** Cropped and centered oversized Pokémon icons to ensure all sprites fit perfectly inside the designated 40x30 card slots without overflowing the UI.

# 📝 Changelog: v1.0.3

## ✨ New Features & Content
  • Workshop Support:** Added **Gigantamax (G-Max)** and **Regional forms** to the Workshop.

## 🐛 Bug Fixes
  • Mining Speed Bonus Fix:** Fixed an issue where the card mining speed bonus was not working. The attribute operation was changed from ADD_MULTIPLIED_BASE (which resulted in $0 \times \text{modifier} = 0$) to ADD_VALUE so the bonus properly applies over the vanilla base value (0) of the MINING_EFFICIENCY attribute.
  • "B" Hotkey Crash Resolution (IndexOutOfBoundsException):** Fixed a critical client-side crash when opening the binder via the hotkey. Added a unified fallback method BinderMenu.findActiveBinder(Player) to ensure that the client and server always open the same active binder following a strict priority order (Accessories ➔ Main Hand ➔ Off-hand ➔ Inventory). This resolves the slot count desynchronization (e.g., 48 vs 120) that caused the client to crash.
  • Card Reading & Vanilla Limits:** Fixed the system that reads cards inside binders (used for calculating drop chances and spawn modifiers).
  • Cards are now stored and read via the custom BINDER_CONTENTS component, successfully **bypassing the vanilla 256-item limit**.
  • Backwards Compatibility:* Implemented a fallback to the old CONTAINER component to ensure existing saves continue to work seamlessly.
  • Added explicit verbose logging to the server console during card drop chance calculations to facilitate testing phases.

## 🔄 Technical & API Changes
  • Fabric Migration to Accessories API:**
  • Completely removed deprecated dependencies on *Trinkets* (dev.emi:trinkets) and *Cardinal Components* in favor of the unified **accessories-fabric** dependency via the Wisp Forest Maven.
  • The equipment management code (FabricPlatformHelper.java) has been entirely rewritten to interact with AccessoriesCapability instead of TrinketsApi, making the Fabric implementation identical to the NeoForge logic.
  • Replaced binder and master album registration with AccessoriesAPI.registerAccessory instead of TrinketsApi.registerTrinket in FabricCobblemonCards.java.
  • Replaced the Trinket interface with Accessory in FabricBinderItem.java and FabricMasterAlbumItem.java. Updated calculation logic to use getDynamicModifiers with AccessoryAttributeBuilder.
  • "Belt" Equipment Slot on Fabric:**
  • Created the accessory tag file in the common module (common/.../data/accessories/tags/item/belt.json) so Fabric knows binders belong in the belt slot.
  • Removed this file from the NeoForge module (as it is now inherited from the common module) to prevent duplicate file Gradle errors during the build.
# 📝 Changelog: v1.0.3

> 🚨 **IMPORTANT UPDATE NOTICE: MIGRATION TO ACCESSORIES API** 🚨
> We have officially transitioned from **Trinkets** to the **Accessories** API!
> ⚠️ **BEFORE UPDATING:** It is highly recommended to **unequip your binders** from your current Trinket slots and **make a backup of your world/server** to prevent any potential data loss.

# 📝 Patch Notes — Cobblemon Cards 1.0.2

  • This release contains various features, balance adjustments, and bug fixes for both Fabric and NeoForge.*

## ✨ Features & Content Updates

### Dynamax & Gigantamax Support in Card Workshop

  • Form Sprites:** Added all existing Gigantamax, G-Max, and Eternamax form sprites to the Card Workshop Screen selection list.
  • Improved Resolution:** Improved base-species resolution in both the card rendering system (CardItemRenderer) and commands (GiveCardCommand). This ensures form-specific sprites (e.g., charizard_gigantamax or gengar_gmax) from the mod's textures are correctly resolved and render on cards instead of displaying missing.png.

### Fakemon Card Drop Whitelist (Datapack & Resource Pack)

  • Custom Datapack Whitelists:** Modpack creators can now selectively enable card drops and booster pack inclusion for specific Fakemon species by creating JSON files under:
data/cobblemon-cards/fakemon_cards/your_whitelist.json
  • Format:**
``json
{
"replace": false,
"species": [
"my_fakemon_id",
"another_one"
]
}

`

  • Dynamic Reloading:** Changes to whitelist datapacks take effect immediately in-game using the /reload command. Cache invalidation is handled automatically.
  • Resource Pack Integration:** Textures for whitelisted Fakemon are loaded dynamically from:
assets/cobblemon-cards/textures/item/cards/pokemon/regular/{species_name}.png
  • (and .../shiny/{species_name}.png)*.

### Species-Aware Rarity System (
SpeciesRarityManager)

  • Natural Rarity Distribution:** Integrated a smart weighting system so that card generation feels more organic. Instead of all Pokémon being equally likely in every slot, species now lean toward card rarities that match their lore and strength (e.g., starters and fossils lean Rare, Legendaries lean Legendary, basic forms lean Common).
  • Cross-Platform System Configuration:** Generates a new file config/cobblemon-cards-species-rarity.json upon launch, allowing server owners to enable/disable the system, adjust weights, or override individual Pokémon rules (setting minimum/maximum card rarities).
  • Species-Aware Capture Drops:** Capturing or defeating a Legendary/Mythic species now skews card drops toward higher rarities instead of using standard uniform probabilities.

## ⚙️ Configuration Updates

### Default Exclude for Fakemon

  • New Entry:** Introduced a new configuration entry: allowFakemonCards (defaults to false).
  • Behavior:** When set to false, species with a National Pokédex number outside 1–1025 (addon-added Fakemon) are automatically excluded from card drops and booster packs, preventing immersion breaks due to missing sprites.
  • In-Game Toggle:** Toggleable in-game via the MidnightConfig menu without requiring a server reboot.

## 🐛 Bug Fixes

### Binder & Card Cabinet Storage Expansion (Data Loss & Crash Fix)

  • Unlimited Storage:** Fixed a critical server crash (java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Got 291 items, but maximum is 256) that occurred when binders contained more than 256 cards. Card list storage has been moved to a custom, unlimited BINDER_CONTENTS component.
  • Seamless Crafting Upgrades:** Fixed a bug where upgrading binders (e.g., Leather -> Master Album) or crafting a Card Cabinet from a Master Album resulted in losing all stored cards due to a vanilla container item 256-cap. Both Binders and Card Cabinets now use the unlimited data structure when crafted.
  • NeoForge Mixin Load Fix:** Resolved an issue where recipe data copy mixins did not load in NeoForge development environments by officially declaring the mixin config under the [[mixins]] key in neoforge.mods.toml`.
  • Legacy Save Migration:** Seamlessly migrates card container data from legacy vanilla components to the new unlimited format when opening legacy binders.

  • Format:**
``json
{
"replace": false,
"species": [
"my_fakemon_id",
"another_one"
]
}

# 📝 Changelog - Cobblemon Cards - Fabric 1.0.1

All major changes brought to **Cobblemon Cards** in this update.

## 🚀 Version 1.0.1 (Multiloader & Easter Eggs Update)

### ⚙️ Multiloader Architecture (Fabric & NeoForge)

### 🤫 Secret Easter Egg Cards (Mythic Cosmetics)
Added **6 new purely cosmetic mythic cards** (perfect Grade 10, no passive stats, non-recyclable) with unique acquisition conditions using the **Instant-Dex**:
  • Ghost of Lavender Town (ghost)**: Scan a ghost-type Pokémon (Gastly, Haunter, Gengar, Cubone, Marowak) near Midnight (Ticks 16000-20000) while standing on *Soul Sand* or *Soul Soil*.
  • Divine Bidoof (god_bidoof)**: Scan a wild Bidoof while holding a **Golden Apple** or an **Enchanted Golden Apple** in your off-hand.
  • Crystal Onix (crystal_onix)**: Scan a wild Onix while holding an **Amethyst Shard** in your off-hand.
  • Shadow Lugia (shadow_lugia)**: Scan a wild Lugia during a **Thunderstorm** while suffering from the **Wither** status effect.
  • Pride Sylveon (pride_sylveon)**: Scan a wild Sylveon while holding a color from the Trans pride flag (**Pink Dye**, **Light Blue Dye**, or **White Dye**) in your off-hand.
  • You & Mew (you_and_mew)**: Scan a wild Mew while carrying a custom **Player Card** (obtained by scanning another player) in your inventory.

### 💿 Card Structure Disk Improvements (card_structure_disk)
  • Stack Size Limit**: Reduced the maximum stack size from 64 to **1** to reflect the value of each unique disk.
  • Pouch and Sack Support**:
  • You can now charge the disk using **Card Dust Pouches** (9 dust) and **Card Dust Sacks** (81 dust).
  • Simple Right-Click**: Consumes a single unit of the smallest available resource.
  • Shift + Right-Click**: Smart-consumes sacks, pouches, then individual dusts to top-up the disk (capped at 1000).

### 🐛 Bug Fixes
  • Ghost of Lavender Town Fix**: Corrected block detection under the player. Sinking into Soul Sand changed the player's Y coordinate floored value; the mod now checks both current block position and below for perfect detection.
  • Nickname Fix**: Replaced nickname checks (for Bidoof & Sylveon) with off-hand item checks, as wild Pokémon cannot be nicknamed and scanning player-owned Pokémon is disabled for gameplay balancing.
