🚫 Genuinely not pay-to-win and we mean it

Most servers say this. Here's exactly what it means on Eclipse:

  • You cannot buy Pokémon. No store listing will ever hand you a shiny, a legendary, or a competitive team. If you want strong Pokémon, you catch and breed them like everyone else.
  • Ranks come from playtime, not your wallet. The players with the highest ranks have simply been here the longest.
  • Crates are earned by playing — through gameplay, events, and natural progression. They are not for sale, period.
  • Store purchases don't give competitive edges. Most of the store is cosmetics. The non-cosmetic options are server-wide boosts (shiny rates, breeding) that apply to every player on the server equally — not just the buyer.
  • No pay-to-win has ever existed here — this isn't a recent policy change, it's how the server has always been built.

If you've been burned by p2w Cobblemon servers before, Eclipse was specifically designed as the alternative.

📖 The wiki

We run a deep wiki at cobblemoneclipse.com — the most detailed Cobblemon Pokédex online, plus a spawn finder, damage calculator, and the live tournament bracket. Worth a look even if you don't end up playing.

Client mod updated to 2.23.1.
Grapple feel v2 in dungeons and with the Traveller's Grapple Hook: the swing follows your camera, Sneak reels you in, a rope timer shows how long the hook holds, and you climb over the ledge once your feet clear the lip.
Minimap Pokemon icons now draw at the same size as the E19 pack and can be switched off in Resource Packs ("Eclipse Minimap Icons").
Client mod updated to 2.22.0.
Switch screen now shows type matchups: coloured frames on each party Pokemon and a hover tooltip with your best hit and the foe's revealed damage.
Minimap Pokemon icons are now built into the client mod, so the separate minimap resource pack was removed.
Fixed battle HUD damage numbers after Regenerator.
Fixed your own aura and trail blocking first-person view.
Iron boots groundwork for the upcoming Water Temple dungeon (inactive until it opens).
The dungeon Grapple Hook has a new look: a three-pronged claw that flies out, bites into the wood and pulls a real rope behind it.
With the Eclipse client mod, the grapple now runs on your side, so it stays smooth even on a laggy connection.
Swinging is steered with your movement keys: W pumps the swing, S brakes, A and D swing you sideways, and you can look around freely.
Hold Space to climb the rope, hold Sneak to let it out, tap Space at the bottom of a swing to jump off, and use the hook again to let go.
Playing without the client mod still works as before, and the game tells you where to get the mod for the smoother swing.
Client mod updated to 2.18.0.
Updated to Cobblemon 1.8.1.
Menu video now uses software decoding (fixes a startup crash on some AMD drivers).
Added MoreCobblemonTweaks 1.3.4 back to the pack now that it supports Cobblemon 1.8
