🚅 Create Railways Navigator (CRN)
A Minecraft Create Mod addon that adds several new features related to train navigation, such as improved display boards, a navigator for searching routes, new schedule entries, and more.
🧩 Dependencies
- This mod requires Create or Create Fabric.
- Versions with
C6are compatible with Create 6, versions without this suffix are compatible with Create 5 (unless Create 6 is the only version available for that Minecraft version) - Version
>= 0.9.0require DragonLib to be installed! Older versions<= 0.8.5do NOT require DragonLib! Delete it from your mods folder. Please read this post to see which versions of my other mods are compatible with each other.
✅ Features
Navigator
Use the Navigator which is inspired by the DB Navigator, to find routes between two stations on your rail network. You will also see the departure times, delays, and other details about your journey.
Advanced Displays
An improved version of Create's Display Boards, specifically designed for trains and stations. They show more detailed information about departing trains, such as the platform, line, delays, and other information. These displays can also be placed directly on the trains themselves, showing information such as the next stop or the terminus station.
New Schedule Instructions
Distribute your trains evenly along your route with the Train Separation Instruction, use a more advanced version of wildcards with Prioritized Destination Instruction, or define the terminus with the Schedule Sections.
... and more features related to train navigation...

- New backend for measuring and calculating trains and the navigator
- Improves overall accuracy and performance and fixes several issues (e.g. endless route searching in the navigator on complex networks).
- Live arrival times are now based on the train's actual physics instead of a rough estimate and travel times are learned over time.
- Delay reasons now accumulate: the original reason stays visible until the train is on time again, instead of being overwritten by a later reason.
- Trains no longer disappear from the displays when derailed or their schedule is stopped. They are shown as cancelled or out of service instead.
- Improved train separation: trains are now held at the platform and no longer block the signal sections in front of it while waiting.
- Improved prioritized destination: the detour is now measured against the unobstructed route.
- Better compatibility with time changing mods mods.
- Added: [Web Rest API](https://wiki.mrjulsen.net/createrailwaysnavigator/web_features/)
- Disabled by default. Must be enabled in the common config.
- Currently only has some GET endpoints.
- Access via HTTP.
- [Uses the open source project Eclipse Jetty](https://wiki.mrjulsen.net/createrailwaysnavigator/web_features/#dependencies)
- The api and web features will be expanded with future updates
- More information about the API and an OpenAPI JSON file in the wiki.
- Added: [Penalty Anchor](https://wiki.mrjulsen.net/createrailwaysnavigator/blocks/penalty-anchor/)
- An obstacle on the track that trains try to avoid
- Can be used to route trains onto specific paths
- Use Redstone to control or read the block
- Added: New navigation options
- Routing strategy: prefer the fastest connection or the one with the fewest transfers.
- Waypoints: search for a route that travels via one or more stations of your choice.
- Direct connections only: hide every connection that has a transfer.
- Added: New options for the prioritized destination instruction
- Wait Instead Of Diverting: stay at the station until one entry becomes reachable instead of taking a lower priority.
- Detour Threshold: how much longer an alternative route may be before the train prefers to wait.
- Added: New delay causes
- Added: Displays can now be placed by Schematicannons
- Added: Config option to hide stations that are not part of any station tag
- Added: Config option to display durations as real life time
- Added: Config option to limit the number of transfers the navigator may use
- Added: Config option to include typical waiting times in the scheduled times
- Fixed: Rare crash caused by index out of range
- Fixed: Text on displays may get invisible
- Fixed: Error in the console when loading train displays
- Fixed: Error in the console about key mapping
- Fixed: The custom language feature breaks translations of the Iris Shaders config screen
- Fixed: Exploits with the permissions system
- Fixed: The main navigator screen doesn't show any tooltips
- Fixed: The "from" and "to" textboxes are not filled when using a recent search
- Fixed: Wrong platform on focus displays when the platform of a train has changed
- Fixed: Wrong order of entries on the displays
- Fixed: Delay reasons are shown as soon as they exist, even if the train isn't delayed
- Fixed: The exit direction is not displayed sometimes
- Fixed: The navigator finds no connection on very large networks
- Updated: Recently searched entries can be pinned
- Updated: Now using local codes instead of an enum for the custom language config setting
- Updated: A confirmation dialog is shown before opening any links
- Updated: Moved most of the common config settings to the server config (this may reset your settings)
- Updated: Reworked the notifications of the route overlay
- Updated: Reworked the navigation settings and the departure board options UI
- Removed: Some config options that no longer apply to the new backend
- Now licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 (previously GNU General Public License v3.0)
- A copy of the license is included in the jar
- The manifest contains the JDK used to build the jar and other useful build information
