What is the Dungeon Train?

The train is a curious thing.
Some call it mutli-dimensional.
A carriage adrift in liminal space and time.
Others, a dungeon crawler with a view.
An escape from reality.
A madman once claimed it a physics mod.
Sable-built. Endless.
Dreamed up by an award-winning hand.
Does the answer change the ride?
You'll have time to decide. The ride is long.

What does it want from me?

It wants, I think.
Some say its loot —
infinite, and never the same twice.
Others say a lesson.
A moral, drip-fed
between the characters,
the lore,
the ever-harder enemies.
Me?
I think it only wants
the right questions.

Who else rides the train?

Others.
Or things shaped like them.
They wear the faces of people —
not quite.
Some are kind.
Some would see you gone.
Some never know you were there at all.
You will not meet the same one twice.
Then again...

The old riders call speak of echoes.
Echoes of those who passed before.
Echoes of strangers long gone.
And sometimes —
an echo of yourself.
I try not to look too closely.

Where is it going?

Depends who you ask.
Some speak of loved ones.
A place called home.
Other treasure.
Many simply green fields. Lush forests.
Endless desert. The dark depths.
Fewer speak of fire. Of voids without end.
A Kingdom of Candy.
Beyond the worlds boarder.
Escape.

Fewer still speak of the Creator —
The request he makes,
asked only in death.
They say his passion will not let him rest.
That he listens to anyone
with a word to offer.

Some practice ancient rituals
in attempt to reach him.
They speak of "discord linking."
A summoning, of sorts.
A gathering place
beyond the train,
where the living and the Creator
trade words.

They say he answers there.
That he takes every offering —
every idea, every grievance, every prayer —
and folds it back into the train.

If you have a word to give,
speak it.

Personally,
I stopped believing in the destination.
Only the journey remains.
Perhaps that was the point.

### 0.1506.0

  • Feel the wind**

You can now tell when the wind is hitting you. Out in the open it sounds louder and closer, and faint streaks blow past the edges of your screen. You can turn the streaks down or off in the Dungeon Train options, on the Train tab.

  • The wind gets louder and rumbles when it is on you, even before it starts to push you
  • You hear a gust while it shoves you, not just before
  • Streaks at the edges of the screen show which way the wind is blowing
  • New Wind effects setting: Off, or 1 to 6 (3 is the default)
  • No more wind streaks when the air is calm

### 0.1505.0

  • Talk to your stream after you die**

If your stream is still running after you die, you can now read and answer its chat from the death screens. The newest message shows quietly at the bottom of the page. Press T to see the whole chat and type a reply.

  • The latest chat message shows at the bottom of every death page
  • Press T to open the full chat and reply without leaving the page
  • What you type stays off the stream

### 0.1504.0

  • Advancement fix**

Some advancements that should have been earned were not. They are now. Vanilla and other mods' advancements are no longer held back by the AFK check.

# [New Faces in the Nether](https://brennan.games/dungeontrain/update/#v0.1501.0)

![New Faces in the Nether](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bh679/dungeon-train-mc/main/.github/release-notes/images/the-piglins-have-new-company.jpg)

The Nether’s piglins aren’t travelling alone any more. New faces have joined them on the train, each with their own way of doing things. Some come prepared with more than a weapon. Some would rather trade. Some look after their own.

  • Bug Fix ×4 · New Feature ×2 · Community ×2 · Translations ×2 · Mobs ×2**

### 0.1500.0

  • Piglin fix**

Piglins on the train now keep their composure all the way through the Nether.

  • Pass the Live Eye to any viewer**

While you're live with the Live Eye, type /offereye to see who is watching through a TV and hand the stream to any of them, or offer it to everyone at once and let the first to accept take it.

  • /offereye lists the viewers who can take your Live Eye, each with an Offer button
  • Pick All to offer it to everyone watching. Whoever accepts first gets it
  • /offereye <name> offers it straight to one viewer
  • If someone beats you to it, you're told someone else accepted first

### 0.1498.0

  • Chinese text for backpacks and backups**

Edible Backpacks and Dungeon Backup now show in Simplified Chinese. Chinese by 老本願.

### 0.1497.0

  • Player Mobs build with proper blocks**

Player Mobs climbing back onto the train no longer build their steps out of beds, doors, torches or chests, so you won't find half beds left beside the track. They now only use solid full blocks.

### 0.1496.0

  • Consent screen switch labels translated**

The ON and OFF labels on the connect-to-the-internet card now show in your language instead of English. Chinese wording by 老本願.

### 0.1495.0

  • The stream hears when a watcher falls**

Die while wearing a TV and watching someone's stream, and the stream's chat is told how it happened. Everyone in the room reads it, in their own language.

  • Shows up in the stream's chat on Discord, Twitch, the website and in game

### 0.1494.0

  • Dimensional carriage fix**

Every room inside a dimensional carriage now stays as you left it. Walk away or step back onto the train, and what you mined or looted is still gone when you return.

### 0.1493.0

  • Chinese translation polish**

老本願 proofread the Simplified Chinese translation, rewording over 600 lines across menus, the death screen, advancements, options, the editor and several books so they read more naturally. Thank you, 老本願!

  • Over 600 menu and message lines reworded
  • Smoother wording in 14 books

### 0.1491.0

  • Advancement fix**

One of the later journey advancements no longer unlocks earlier than it should.

  • Live Eye finds**

Live Eye finds.

### 0.1487.0

  • Smoother recovery from lag spikes**

After a sudden lag spike, the game no longer wakes up a long stretch of the train at once, so the hitch passes quicker instead of getting worse. Pausing and resuming still keeps your train safe.

  • Echo fix**

Echoes of other players turn up more often again on quiet stretches of track.

  • Better lag reports**

Short lag spikes now leave a clue in the game log, so the ones you report can be tracked down and fixed.

  • Free Play always asks first**

### 0.1477.0

  • Advancement photos keep the game paused**

Opening an advancement's photos from the advancements screen no longer lets the train and music carry on behind them in single-player.

### 0.1476.0

A new carriage can now turn up on the train, and an old favourite has been rebuilt.

  • New carriage
  • Rebuilt carriage

More of the creatures you photograph now count toward your wildlife photos.

  • Camera hints**

Some photos now let you know when your timing was a little off.

### 0.1473.0

  • Photo fix**

Taking a picture no longer stutters the game. The copy the train keeps of each photo is now made in the background instead of freezing a frame.

### 0.1472.0

  • Dimensional carriage fix**

Dimensional carriages now properly shut out the world you left behind.

  • New Feature ×10 · Bug Fix ×4 · Menus & UI ×4 · Editor ×3 · Mobs ×2 · Advancements ×2 · Multiplayer ×1 · Community ×1 · Compatibility ×1 · Train ×1 · Books ×1 · Balance ×1**

### 0.1471.0

  • Challenges are single-player only**

Challenges can now only be earned when playing alone. In multiplayer, or once your world is shared with friends, they can't be unlocked.

  • In multiplayer the Challenges tab fades the challenges you haven't earned, and hovering one tells you why.
  • Challenges you already earned are kept and stay lit.

### 0.1470.0

  • /log sends a bug report**

Typing /log now opens the bug report, the same as /bug, so you can send your logs whichever one you remember. Using it never puts your run into Free Play.

  • Recipe viewer fix**

A forge you can build was missing from JEI. It now shows up there with its recipe.

### 0.1468.0

  • Mob buff timing fix**

Some of the newer mobs were picking up difficulty buffs from the very start of the run. Every mob now waits until the point where it first starts showing up on the train before its buffs kick in.

  • Quieter advancement pop-ups**

Only Dungeon Train's own advancements pop up a card now. Minecraft's and other mods' advancements still count and still show in chat, just without the card.

  • Want them back? Options > Dungeon Train > Other advancement cards

### 0.1467.0

  • Bug fixing**

Bug fixing.

### 0.1466.0

  • Photo fix**

Photo fix.

### 0.1465.0

  • More dirt carriages**

New dirt carriage variants.

### 0.1464.0

  • Boosting your own book asks first**

Boosting your own book costs 10 Book Boosts, and someone else's costs 1. Clicking the star on your own book now asks before it spends them, so you can't use 10 by accident. Tick Don't show this again to skip the question next time.

### 0.1463.0

  • Endermen can teleport onto the train**

Endermen no longer drop to the ground under the train when they teleport over it. Look at one from the roof or from inside a carriage and it can now land right beside you.

### 0.1462.0

  • Stepping inside editor empty markers**

Inside one of the editor's see-through empty markers you now see clearly instead of a dark screen, and jumping drops you back in rather than onto its top.

### 0.1461.0

  • More in the Narrative tab**

The Narrative creative tab now has bookshelves, chiseled bookshelves and both photo frames, so you can decorate your story spots without leaving the tab.

### 0.1459.0

  • Walk through empty markers in the editor**

In the block variant editor, the see-through blocks that mark empty spots no longer wall you in. Walk through them from the side, stand on top of them, and sneak to drop through. You can still place blocks against them.

  • Empty blocks setting in the editor**

A new Empty blocks row in the editor's Settings tab picks how the see-through empty markers behave: Half solid (stand on them, walk through from the side), Solid, or Air.

  • Wind reaches more of the line**

The wind now reaches stretches of the line that used to stay still, and it keeps building the further you go. The End's cold bites there too.

  • Advancement tweaks**

A hidden travel advancement now asks for a longer journey, and a tab's completion advancement no longer needs an optional secret to finish.

Something slimey, knockbacky and rare got added.

  • Two new advancements**

A part of the journey that had nothing to find now has two hidden advancements of its own, one for getting there and one for a photo.

### 0.1454.0

  • Advancement name tweak**

One advancement has a new name.

### 0.1453.0

  • Piglin fix**

Piglins and hoglins you meet in the train's stranger stretches, and in dimensional rooms, no longer shake and turn into their zombified forms.

### 0.1452.0

  • Copy block variants from any template**

Middle-click on a variant cell now copies its block variants into your hotbar in every kind of template, including group carriages and the Train Builder. The menu's Copy button does the same, putting the copy in your hotbar and swapping out the held item when the hotbar is full.

  • Works along the whole length of group carriages
  • Works when looking into a template from outside it, and on door tops and paintings
  • Still works with the variant overlay turned off

### 0.1451.0

  • Live Eye hand-offs**

When another player is getting close to a rare challenge, whoever is streaming with the Live Eye is told and can hand them the Live Eye, so the stream can follow the run. The player chooses whether to take it.

### 0.1450.0

  • Fresh carriage contents**

New rooms and encounters turn up aboard the train, and some old favourites have been reshuffled.

  • New encounters in the stranger stretches of the journey
  • Ancient vases hold a better spread of finds
  • Some vases are livelier than they look

### 0.1448.0

  • Mirrored variant conditions**

In the editor, a conditional variant cell copied by the mirror now reads the lock group beside it on the mirrored side, not the group on the side you pasted it.

### 0.1447.0

  • Photo albums**

More of your photos are now kept with the camera advancements they count toward. Click one of those advancements to look back through every photo that counted.

### 0.1446.0

  • Bigger photo collections**

The two creature photo collections now ask for every creature you can meet on the train, and they grow by themselves as new ones arrive. Already finished one? It stays finished.

  • Track The Challenge**

Clicking All at Once or The Challenge on the advancements screen now tracks it, as its tooltip says, while still highlighting the challenges it combines.

### 0.1445.0

  • Signs on drifting carriages keep their words**

Signs you write on a drifting carriage now travel with it. Before, the next player to find that carriage saw the signs blank. New writing is checked before other players see it, the same way books are.

### 0.1444.0

  • Discord post fix**

Names, builds and pets with underscores or asterisks now show exactly as written in every Discord post, instead of turning the rest of the post underlined or italic.

### 0.1443.0

  • Dimensional carriage fix**

Fixed a case where walking through a dimensional carriage could send you back to the train before you reached the way out.

### 0.1441.0

  • Discord echo story fix**

Echo encounter stories posted to Discord no longer turn underlined or italic when a player's name ends in an underscore.

  • New leaderboard book**

A new leaderboard book ranks the quickest players to pull off one of the hardest runs aboard the train. Lowest time wins.

### 0.1440.0

  • Bigger feats, louder log**

One more of the train's hardest feats is now announced in the community passenger log when a passenger earns it.

  • TVs switch themselves on**

Some TVs on the train now come already switched on, so a carriage full of screens is no longer dark until you click each one.

  • About one in four TVs starts on, showing the live feed
  • Options, Performance, Watch live feeds: pick TVs start off to keep every new TV off

  • Bug Fix ×3 · New Feature ×2 · Advancements ×2 · New Content ×1 · Editor ×1 · Compatibility ×1 · Train ×1 · Loot ×1 · Menus & UI ×1 · Balance ×1**

### 0.1438.0

  • Advancement tuning**

A few hidden advancements are now much quicker to earn.

  • Advancement progress carries over**

Advancements you had partly finished no longer start again from zero in a new world. Your photo counts carry over too.

### 0.1437.0

  • More dimensional carriage rooms**

Dimensional carriages deeper down the train have a new room to find, and some of the riskier rooms now hold better loot. One of the libraries has had a small touch-up too.

### 0.1435.0

  • Editor: Redstone and TNT switches**

The editor's Settings tab can now switch redstone and TNT off, so you can wire up a contraption or place TNT in your build without it going off. Your runs are never affected.

  • Redstone Off: nothing in the editor gives power, so lamps, pistons and doors stay put until you switch it back on.
  • TNT Off: lit TNT in the editor fizzles out without breaking anything.

  • Wind fix**

Wind streaks no longer drift past when there is no wind blowing.

### 0.1434.0

  • Live Eye buttons never offer Free Play**

Taking over a Live Eye stream or voting on a takeover could ask you to enter Free Play. Chat buttons now just do their job, and the command list stays tidy.

  • Live Eye takeover, voting and gifting can no longer push a run into Free Play.
  • Typing / now suggests only /bug, so the game's own helper commands stay out of the way.

  • Bug Fix ×3 · New Feature ×1 · Editor ×1 · Compatibility ×1 · Mobs ×1 · Loot ×1 · Balance ×1**

### 0.1433.0

  • Deep mobs hit harder, but never unbeatable**

Very far down the train, buffed mobs stop rolling the weakest buffs. Mobs with extreme protection or healing can always be worn down now.

### 0.1432.0

  • TVs drop only a TV**

Breaking a TV no longer drops a stray item along with it. Those TVs now tune in to the Live Feed when switched on, and TVs in trains you have already ridden are fixed when they load.

### 0.1430.0

  • Your Ender Chest stays with you**

Your Ender Chest now lives in one place whichever launcher starts the game. Before this, some launchers kept it inside their own game folder, so switching launcher showed an empty chest while the real one sat in the old folder. A chest left behind that way is picked up on your next login from the old launcher, and you are told in chat when it happens. Ender Chest Persistence 0.7.0 is now required; the CurseForge and Modrinth apps update it for you.

  • Ender Chest contents are found in the same place no matter which launcher you use
  • A chest left behind by a previous launcher is carried across and announced in chat
  • Requires Ender Chest Persistence 0.7.0 (auto-installed by the CurseForge / Modrinth apps)

  • Editor tidy-up**

A reviewer-only panel in the editor was showing up for everyone. It is now kept to development builds, so the editor's tabs and category strip only list the places you can actually use.

A hidden advancement that some players had earned was not unlocking. It does now.

### 0.1428.0

  • Bug reports pause the run**

Writing a bug report with /bug now pauses the game while the report screen is open, so the train and its mobs wait for you instead of carrying on without you. On a server, your run clock stops while you type, the same as opening the pause menu.

  • /bug pauses the game while you write the report
  • On servers, your run clock stops while the report screen is open

### 0.1426.0

Spiders beside the train no longer twitch back and forth against the side of a carriage.

# [A Deeper Darker Train - Mobs & New Dimension](https://brennan.games/dungeontrain/update/#v0.1426.0)

![A Deeper Darker Train - Mobs & New Dimension](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bh679/dungeon-train-mc/main/.github/release-notes/images/a-deeper-darker-train.jpg)

Deep down the line, past the stranger stretches you already know, the ride now drops into somewhere darker than anything before it.

  • A new stretch of the journey.** Its own scenery, its own ruins to find, its own sea and its own sky. The track, the tunnels and the carriages all dress for it, and the way the mountains lead you in is one long unbroken climb from the stretch before.

  • New creatures ride the train.** Some carriages deep down carry what lives there, and the stretch itself is home to them too. They are not from around here.

  • Bug Fix ×4 · Performance ×4 · Compatibility ×3 · New Feature ×2 · Community ×1 · Balance ×1 · Behind the Scenes ×1**

### 0.1425.0

  • Block info spoiler fix**

A block-info mod could give away a hidden surprise in some walls. In survival it now tells you only what you would see with your own eyes.

### 0.1424.0

  • No freeze when you earn an advancement**

Earning an advancement could freeze the game for several seconds on some computers, because it waited on the disk before carrying on. The save now happens in the background, so the game keeps running while it writes.

  • Earning an advancement no longer waits on the disk
  • Leaving a server no longer holds up the other players while your advancements save

### 0.1423.0

  • Smoother ticks and quieter logs**

The game's performance notes are now written in the background instead of making the world wait for the log file, and sitting in the pause menu no longer fills your log with false freeze reports.

### 0.1420.0

  • Safer with mod updates**

If one of the bundled mods updates ahead of the pack, its portals keep working and the game still starts.

  • Not every pot is quite what it seems**

Break them carefully.

### 0.1419.0

  • Dev launch improvement**

Launching a dev client straight into a world that no longer exists now stops with a clear message listing the worlds that do, instead of a failed load.

  • Lighter ride through the stranger stretches**

The stranger stretches of the line now cost the server less work every tick, so the ride stays smooth with more mobs and items about. Nothing looks or behaves differently.

  • Shorter autosave pause**

The game paused for a second or more every time it autosaved, because the train was being written to disk the slow way. Autosaves now write the train the same way the rest of the world is written, so the pause is much shorter. Saving on quit is unchanged.

  • Autosaves and the pause save no longer wait on the disk for every train file
  • Quitting the world still saves everything fully before it closes

### 0.1417.0

  • Quieter passenger log announcements**

The public passenger log's milestone and first-ever announcements no longer end with your carriage and difficulty. Where you are on the train stays yours to share.

### 0.1416.0

  • Heavy armor keeps helping**

Stacking armor and armor toughness now keeps paying off. Armor used to stop helping once it blocked 80% of a hit; now heavier armor and tougher gear keep blocking a little more, slowly climbing toward a ceiling just under 90%. Very heavily armored mobs deep in the run get a little tougher too.

  • Armor past the old limit now blocks more damage, never reaching 90%
  • Armor toughness keeps helping once your armor is maxed out

  • New Feature ×2 · Performance ×2 · Bug Fix ×1 · Compatibility ×1 · World ×1 · Behind the Scenes ×1**

### 0.1416.0

  • Lighter carriage checks**

Looking up a carriage's blocks now costs the same however big the carriage is, so the wind and other checks around the train stay cheap on long and wide carriages.

  • Quieter logs**

The game log no longer fills with the same few lines repeated thousands of times. Bug reports now carry the part that matters, and the game spends less time writing to disk while you play.

### 0.1414.0

  • Rain leans with the wind under shader packs**

Deep down the line the train wind already tilts the rain. With a shader pack on, the rain was too faint and too busy with the pack's own sway for that lean to show. It now reads there too: the rain leans harder and falls thicker while the wind blows, so you can see which way it is coming from. Without shaders nothing changes.

  • Rain visibly leans with the wind under shader packs
  • No change to the rain without shaders

  • Some places pull you in**

Deep down the line, some of the stranger places have a pull of their own. Step off the train near one and you drift toward it, land on it, and can jump free again. Whatever you throw or shoot curves in too, and the wind dies away there.

  • Riders out on the roof feel a gentle tug. Inside a carriage you feel nothing.
  • Strength, reach and how the pull lets go are all in the config.

# [The train gets cold, and the wind blows the weather](https://brennan.games/dungeontrain/update/#v0.1413.0)

![The train gets cold, and the wind blows the weather](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bh679/dungeon-train-mc/main/.github/release-notes/images/the-train-gets-cold-and-the-wind-blows-the-weather.jpg)

Deep down the line, the ride is getting harsher in two ways.

  • The train gets cold.** Some stretches turn bitterly cold. Out on the roof, a flatbed or a coupling pad, frost creeps over you, just as it does in powder snow. Only a carriage closed in on every side keeps you warm, so step inside to thaw. It starts slow and bites faster the further you have travelled, never quite reaching the cold of powder snow. Leather armour slows the frost: every piece doubles the time you can stay out before it bites.

  • The wind blows the weather.** Where the train's wind blows, the weather feels it too. Rain leans into each gust and swings back as it passes, snow is swept sideways and flies at you when you face into it, and campfire smoke, petals and ash beside the track drift away downwind. Inside a carriage or under cover the air stays still.

  • The train continues to get harder. Feedback on the balance is welcome.*

  • World ×2 · New Feature ×1 · Performance ×1**

### 0.1411.0

  • The wind follows you off the train**

The wind no longer stops at the edge of the train. Step down onto the ground and it keeps shoving you about just the same. Walls, tunnels and the train itself still give you shelter when you stand behind them, and it leaves you alone in the water.

  • Jump off the train and the wind comes with you.
  • Duck behind a wall, or behind the train, and it drops away.

### 0.1410.0

  • Lighter End islands generation**

The End islands crossings now generate each chunk with less work and far less memory churn: the terrain copy no longer builds a wide ring of empty scratch chunks, asks the biome layout once per column instead of once per block row, and skips a cave pass that never carved anything. What you see on the islands is unchanged.

  • End islands chunks generate with about a fifth less processing and a quarter of the memory churn
  • No change to how the islands look

# [The Deep Train gets Windy](https://brennan.games/dungeontrain/update/#v0.1407.0)

![The Deep Train gets Windy](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bh679/dungeon-train-mc/main/.github/release-notes/images/the-deep-train-gets-windy.jpg)

Deep down the line, for the most brave, skilled and committed adventurers, lies a new challenge.

The carts might be full of buffed up monsters, but now the roof of the train, and anywhere the walls don't protect you, face gusts of wind! The taller places feel it more, and underground is safe from it. Forever growing stronger. The train continues to get harder.

Special thanks to Lil Detective Crunch for the idea.

  • I will be taking feedback on the wind balancing, and I will be rebalancing monsters later too.*

# [Donation rewards, now in game](https://brennan.games/dungeontrain/update/#v0.1406.0)

![Donation rewards, now in game](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bh679/dungeon-train-mc/main/.github/release-notes/images/donation-rewards-in-game.png)

The thank-you that comes with a gift to the dev is now something you can use in Dungeon Train.

  • Book Boosts.** Every $10 you give carries 10 Book Boosts. Found a book you loved? Turn to its last page and tap the star to boost it, as many times as you like. Each boost on someone else's book costs 1, and the author is told which donors boosted it. Want your own writing seen? Boost it when you sign it, or tap the star on your own copy later, for 10. The star beside the book shows how many boosts you have left.

Also, a **Copy Book button**, for the donors who are making an archive of every book they've read.

Rewards are matched to your Minecraft account, so they need network features switched on.

## Other significant updates

  • New cargo: crates, trees and a TNT boxcar
  • Many new woods down the line, and new enemy rooms
  • Quicker Streams: when it's on, the Live Eye reaches viewers in seconds
  • Community photos hang in the carriages' picture frames
  • Website watchers wear their own skin, and the Live page names viewers wearing a TV
  • Mobs stay put: they no longer die to passing carriages, slide to the back, or vanish when they step off
  • See what each advancement unlocks
  • Distant Horizons fits in better, and Bobby is an approved mod
  • Lighter terrain generation and many bug fixes

  • New Feature ×2 · Menus & UI ×2 · Community ×1 · Books ×1**

### 0.1405.0

  • Updates have names**

When a new version comes out while you're playing, the chat message now tells you what the update is called, not just its number. Big updates stand out with a banner, a short description and a sound.

### 0.1401.0

  • Boost other players' books**

Book Boosts from donating can now go on anyone's book, not just your own. Tap the star on a book's last page to help it reach more players, as many times as you like.

  • Each Priority Book is now 10 Book Boosts. Boosting someone else's book uses 1, boosting your own uses 10.
  • Your boosts left sit beside the book, and authors are told which donors boosted their writing.

![Community Rewards](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bh679/dungeon-train-mc/main/.github/release-notes/images/community-rewards.jpg)

Rewards the whole community benefits from. There are features I'd love to provide, but they cost more than I can take on alone. Now one person can unlock them for everyone! Give a Community Reward and everyone gets it, not just the donor.

The first reward is **Quicker Streams**: cover the server costs and the Live Eye stream delay drops from 30s to 6s for a whole month, for everyone. More rewards are on the way.

## Other significant updates
  • Support the solo-dev now opens one Contribute screen, the same one the engine room shows, from the title screen, the pause menu and Credits
  • A new rewards page: Community Rewards for everyone, and Personal Rewards showing what each gift to the dev brings you
  • Every gift puts your name aboard, and gifts to the dev also bring Priority Books
  • Copying the books you read is now a thank-you for gifts of $30 or more

  • New Feature ×1 · Menus & UI ×1**

### 0.1404.0

  • Gift amounts in your own currency**

The Contribute screens now have a currency button at the top right. Pick your currency and every gift shows roughly what it comes to in your money. Gifts are still made in Australian dollars. Your choice is remembered, and the game starts from the currency that matches your language.

  • 13 currencies to choose from, each with its own flag
  • A currency picker on the website's support page too

# [Smarter mob buffs](https://brennan.games/dungeontrain/update/#v0.1403.0)

![Smarter mob buffs](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/bh679/dungeon-train-mc/main/.github/release-notes/images/smarter-mob-buffs.jpg)

Deep train potion buffs on train mobs have been reworked. The later stages of the game are more balanced. Rather than a flat potion effect for every mob, the effect is now a max, and they will get a random level between 1 and the current stage max. Additionally, mobs that turn up later get potion effects delayed (and babies get effects a little later too).

  • More variety:** the further you ride, the wider the spread. A buffed mob now rolls anywhere from level I up to that stretch's top level, so some are weaker than before and none are stronger.
  • Late arrivals catch up gradually:** mobs that only start showing up further down the train no longer get buffed the moment they appear. Their buffs begin later, counted from where they first show up.
  • Babies get a head start for you:** baby mobs get their buffs a little later than adults.

  • Bug Fix ×2 · Mobs ×2 · Train ×1**

### 0.1399.0

  • Mobs no longer get stuck in the train floor**

Mobs could appear standing inside a carriage floor, with their heads poking up through the deck as the train carried them along. An Enderman stuck there could even be angered by a glance from inside the carriage. Mobs no longer appear there, and any already stuck are moved out to the ground beside the train.

### 0.1398.0

  • Mobs stay put in moving carriages**

Animals, villagers and monsters standing inside a carriage no longer slowly slide toward the back of the train. The further you travelled, the faster they slid, up to several blocks a minute on long runs. Now they stay where they stand.

### 0.1393.0

  • Train sound comes back after unmuting**

Turning your game sound, ambient sound or the train engine volume down to zero and back up now brings the train's rumble straight back at its normal volume, instead of leaving it silent until you rejoined the world.

### 0.1391.0

  • Longer takeover votes**

Taking over someone's Live Eye stream now needs a vote from the viewers for their first 20 minutes on air. For the first 10 the streamer votes too; after that, the viewers decide on their own.

### 0.1390.0

  • Photos on the walls**

Some carriages now hang framed photos taken by other players, and a different set turns up on every train.

  • New carriages with photo frames on the walls.
  • Picture frames in mirrored carriages now hang on the right wall.
  • Fixed old photos staying behind in a frame, and frames dropping as items.

  • Live page update**

### 0.1386.0

  • Advancement profile upkeep**

Behind-the-scenes upkeep for advancement profiles.

### 0.1385.0

  • Live Eye restart warnings**

When the live stream's server restarts, everyone streaming or watching now gets a heads-up in Live chat, and the stream picks back up with the same streamer once it's back.

  • A short countdown in Live chat before the server restarts, saying roughly how long it will take
  • Your Live Eye or TV stays with the same streamer through the restart instead of dropping out
  • Live chat stays connected and tells you when everything is back

### 0.1383.0

  • Lighter terrain generation**

Some of the heavier terrain the train rides through now generates with less work per chunk, so the server has more breathing room while new ground is being laid down. Nothing looks different.

### 0.1380.0

  • Ender Chest photos keep their pictures**

Photos you keep in your Ender Chest now still show their picture when you start a new run, instead of turning into blank paper.

  • Photos and photo stacks in the Ender Chest keep their pictures from one run to the next
  • Photos that already went blank come back if the world they were taken in is still saved

### 0.1379.0

  • Advancement tweak**

Advancement tweak.

  • Bug report fix**

When you agree to send your logs to the developer, the developer is now told whether they actually arrived.

  • Quicker Streams: watch the Live Eye with seconds of delay**

When Quicker Streams is on for the server, Live Eye streams reach TVs and the website about 6 seconds after it happens, instead of up to half a minute. It switches on with the next stream after the reward starts, and back off the same way when it ends.

  • Website viewers go from about 28 seconds behind to about 6
  • TV viewers go from about 14 seconds behind to about 6
  • When a streamer dies, viewers are offered the Live Eye much sooner

  • Editor fix: Clear empties long carriages**

Clearing all blocks in a long carriage's contents or a long carriage plot now empties the whole thing, not just the first carriage.

  • Advancement fix**

### 0.1376.0

  • Bobby is now an approved mod**

Playing with Bobby no longer turns your run into Free Play. Bobby keeps the land you have already ridden past on screen beyond a server's view distance, so it now sits on the approved mod list next to Distant Horizons. On NeoForge, use the Bobby ReNeoForged port.

  • See what each advancement unlocks**

After you earn an advancement, chat now tells you which new advancements it revealed, so you know what to chase next. When a whole new advancement tab opens up, you get its own line too.

  • Hover a revealed advancement in chat to see what it asks of you
  • Only the advancement tabs you have switched on in Options count, so it stays quiet about other mods by default

  • Open skies at every crossing**

When the world changes around the train, you now ride through it on an open flatbed, out in the air to watch it happen.

  • A flatbed group waits wherever the world shifts.
  • It lands where you will be, however fast you travel.

  • New walled enemy rooms**

Long carriages can now hold walled rooms full of enemies.

### 0.1363.0
