Tutorial
Features
This pack introduces a complex spell casting system which allows you to build your own custom spells, setting their behavior through the spell book interface.
Beside the magic system, the pack adds a set of items, with one variant for each of the 5 energy types available.\ 5 structures are also added to the pack, one for each energy type, and they are the starting point for this pack.
Items
- energy: fuel for spells
- spell book: allows you to create and cast spells
- jar of energy: a better way to carry with you lot of energy
- caster armor: offers no protection but discounts the cost of the spells you cast
Energy Types
- sun energy
- ground energy
- soul energy
- dark energy
- void energy
Each energy type is linked to a set of effects you can use in your spells.
Structures
The structures introduced by this pack are called ruins, they are small simple structures containing an Energy Globes spawner. These globes give you access to all the items in the pack.
Getting Started
This pack comes with a really short in game guide in the advancement tab, which will teach you how to craft all items. I still strongly suggest to watch the tutorial before playing.
Installation
Download the datapack and put it in the datapacks folder of your world or server. Make sure you download the required resourcepack, and put it in the resource packs folder.
If you plan to use multiple datapacks and resourcepacks together, you can use Weld to easily merge them together to place in your world. (some packs may not be compatible with others, but mine follows smithed's conventions for better compatibility with other packs)

## Bug Fixes

- completely rewritten meditation mechanic. You are no longer put in spectator, thus preventing exploits.
- added mind attacks
- added tutorial advancement for meditation
## Spells
- fixed seek movement mode in other dimensions
- using a strong selector (object, marked entity, ...) on a meditating player will select the clone of their body
- marking a meditating player's clone will result in the player being marked

- marking a meditating player's clone will result in the player being marked
- Added new shape: 'dart' (faster projectile)
- Added 'seek' movement mode for 'projectile', 'sprout', 'dart': seeks a target with an optional offset (similar to follow, but momentum based)
- Now shapes apply effects with different intensity. the shape intensity value is multiplied by the spell power to define the effect power (so with equal spell power, defined by the time spent charging the spell, a sprout shape will apply a stronger effect then a dart shape)
## Trinkets
- Now the scrying trinket requires 5 soul energy, instead of 1, to protect you from being targeted
## Meditation
- Added a partial implementation of the meditation mechanic. sneak twice quickly while looking straight down to get out of your body in a sort of astral projection for a limited time. Approach your body to go back in.

- added 'area of effect' shape
- added 'terminate' node for turret: allows to add a condition to terminate early the turret and/or an instruction to run when the turret ends
- Added 'follow_rotation' node to 'follow' movement mode: can be used to make a turret rotate toward a target or a location
- Added 'counter' instruction: allows to set the value of an internal counter of the spell
- Added 'compare' condition: allows to compare two values
- Greatly improved shape's textures!
## Effects changes
- Added 'release_potion' effect: use up some duration of a potion in your inventory and apply that duration of the effect to the target
## New Mechanics
- Added two trinkets: 'scrying ward' and 'translocation ward'
- Scrying Ward: when active, protects you from being targeted by strong selectors (objects & marked_entities)
- Translocation Ward: when activated, prevents translocation spells to teleport targets from inside to outside its range
- Added 'focus', 'casting fatigue' and 'raw energy' bars
- Raw Energy: can be used to pay any energy cost, but it maxes out at 10 points, and regens by 1 point every half second
- If the Casting Fatigue bar fills completely all your currently active spells will be destroyed
- if the Focus bar is more then 2/3 full, your mind is concealed, meaning that the 'player' target selector will not be able to target you (more uses for focus will come)
## Balance
- Spirits drop way more energy (with extra increase with looting)
## Accessibility
- Added settings to enable/disable shapes particles
- Added settings to enable/disable custom gui
## Bugfixes
- fixed a bug that prevented jars to be placed in the nether and in the end
