Hextra Patterns
My humor is impeccable
A Hex Casting addon with some extra utility patterns that really just shorten hexes.
The new patterns are properly categorized and split across multiple entries in the hex book.
Many of these patterns can already be done in base Hex with just a 2-3 patterns, they're just nice as shorthands. Some of them are more complex functions that would take multiple patterns to replicate in Base Hex.
Check out the book and see what there is!

All Versions
+ Add Version- Archer's/Architect's Distillation II
- These block raycasts can hit blocks without collision, like grass
- Sextant Decomposition
- Return's the pitch and yaw of an entity's looking direction
- Unlike using Polar Decomposition on an entity's look vector, this will retain the yaw when looking straight up/down
- Sextant Purification
- Return's an entity's *body* yaw
- Birdkeeper's Gambit
- Similar to Bookkeeper's Gambit, but instead of removing iotas it puts them into a list at the top of the stack
- Replaced the vector manipulation patterns with a single vector swizzling special handler
- Added rounding
- Rounding purification rounds to nearest int
- Rounding distillation rounds to a nearest multiple
- Added vector manipulation
- Swap xy/yz/xz
- Shift components left or right
- Add angler's gambit
- Duplicates an iota on the stack in-place
- Separation Gambit is now inclusive-inclusive
- Fixed polar decomposition returning wrong values when the vector is not normalized
- Updated zh_cn translations
- Vectors
- Vector Purification
- Converts a list of 3 numbers into a vector, or a vector into a list of 3 numbers
- Coordinate Purification: X/Y/Z
- Gets a vector's X/Y/Z coordinate
- Coordinate Distillation: X/Y/Z
- Sets a vector's X/Y/Z coordinate
- Stack Manipulation
- Capsizing Gambit
- Sends the top iota to the bottom of the stack
- Dredging Gambit
- Pulls the bottom iota to the top of the stack
- Capsizing Gambit II/Dredging Gambit II
- Same as above, but copies instead of moves
- Fixed derivation decomposition II and speaker's decomposition II throwing an error when peeking an empty list.
- Added patterns for handling nulls
- Coalescing Distillation
- If the first thing isn't null, return it. Otherwise, return the second thing.
- Apparently this is [old behavior that used to exist at some point](https://github.com/FallingColors/HexMod/issues/326), which I didn't know. Anyway, this one is taken from a [PR](https://github.com/FallingColors/HexMod/pull/1196) into the 1.21 version of the mod.
- Coalescing Gambit
- If the first thing isn't null, return it. Otherwise, execute the second thing.
- Adds patterns for getting the iota at the start, end, or at an index of a list without removing it from the list.
- Fixed Entropy Purification and Distillation having swapped functionality
- Potentially fix certain patterns crashing on servers due to using the wrong
removeLast. (Untested :hexxy:)
- Rewrote the entire mod in Kotlin to make future development easier.
- Bug fixes:
- Fixed Range Exaltation II doing the same thing as Range Exaltation when applied to numbers.
- Sets:
- The three versions of Bucketing Gambit have been unified into a single pattern
- Added Disordering Purification, which will try to turn a list into a set. Will mishap if the list is not entirely numbers, entirely vectors, or entirely entities.
- Anubis'/Ra's Gambit:
- Similar to Thoth's/Djehuty's Gambit, but instead of operating on copies of the original stack, each sub-execution directly affects the original stack.
- Bug Fix:
Retention Gambit: Augur'sis now useable. - Updated CN Translation by @Chuijk_ide
- Hash Sets no longer have arbitrary typing, and instead are locked to numbers only, vectors only, or entities only. The new implementation is significantly less cursed and should more accurately reflect rules for iota equality.
- Added Metaeval Patterns
- Helios'/Selene's Gambit: Executes if true/false
- Acheron's/Styx's Gambit: Halts if true/false
- Djehuty's Gambit: Thoth's, but additionally includes the current index for each sub-execution
- Comparison Gambit renamed to Retention Gambit. This is because I've added:
- Retention Gambit: Augur's, which is Augur's Purification without eating the input iota.
- Added Set Iotas
- Contains a hash set to fast and efficient checks for existence and other set operators.
- Turning Exaltation (Vec3) now mishaps if the two vectors are facing opposite to each other, as no axis of rotation can be determined in this case.
- Lists
- Shuffle
- Delete element
- Numbers
- Random num within range
- Vectors
- Vector in random direction
- Polar coordinates
- Numbers & Vectors
- Invert
- Increment/Decrement
- Approach
- Angle Distance
- Turning
