Hide Your Armor

Releases Minecraft Version Loader

Client-side mod for hiding or setting transparency of your armor. Works locally by default, and optionally syncs to other players if the server has it too.

Features

Opacity, not just on/off Every piece has a slider from 0% to 100%. Drag it and see the change instantly on the preview doll. No need to re-equip anything.

  • Armor – Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, Boots each have their own slider
  • Shield – Off-hand shield opacity
  • Misc – Elytra, Skulls & blocks worn on head, Capes, and Armor trims
  • Enchantment glint – Toggle the glint separately for each armor piece and the shield

Preview

Two tabs Armor / Offhand.

Live preview The config screen doesn't pause the game. You can view the preview model and it updates in real time. Settings save to config/hidearmor.json when you close the screen.

Presets Save your current sliders as a preset and apply it later. Right-click a preset to delete it.

Wildfire Female Gender Mod compat If you use WGFM, breast armor layers follow your chestplate opacity and the glint toggles work on those meshes too.

Controls

  • H – open Hide Your Armor (rebindable in Controls)
  • While the screen is open: drag sliders, toggle glint, switch tabs. Hit Esc to close and save.

Multiplayer

The mod is client-side only. You can join vanilla servers fine – your settings just stay local.

If you want others to see you the way you configured it, turn on Multiplayer Sync (compass icon in the top-right of the config screen). When enabled, your config is sent to the server and the server relays it to other players who also have the mod.

You Server Others see your opacity?
Singleplayer / LAN – Yes
Modded server Mod installed Yes
Vanilla / no mod Not installed No – stays local

Players without the mod just see normal armor. No crashes or desyncs.

Installation

Universal jar works on both loaders (built with Architectury + Forgix).

  1. Fabric: Minecraft 26.3 + Fabric Loader + Fabric API
  2. NeoForge: Minecraft 26.3 + NeoForge 26.3.0.10-beta or newer

Fabric API is required on Fabric. No extra dependencies on NeoForge.

Config & Commands

No commands. Config is at config/hidearmor.json and is edited inside the game. You can back it up or delete it to reset.

Hide Your Armor 1.7.1

Support for all 26.X versions.

New:
  • Global preset toggle (globe icon next to the sync button) applies your current
preset to every player. Off by default; mobs and armor stands are unaffected.

Fixed:
  • Crash when loading SubmitNodeCollection (non-private static field in a mixin).
  • Crash on render batch flush caused by an accessor overwriting
RenderSetup.getTextures().
## 1.7.0 – MC 26.3 port

  • MC 26.3, NeoForge 26.3.0.10-beta, Fabric API 0.161.0+26.3, loader 0.19.5, Architectury 22.0.2, Loom 1.17, WGFM Beta.5
  • Fixed world-join crash (SubmitNodeCollection phase routing changed)
  • Fixed shield pop-in (26.3 sprite path bypassed the old translucency swap)
  • Fixed keybinds (GLFW removed → InputConstants.KEY_H)
  • Adapted to 26.3 rendering: armorTrim, 9-arg submitModel with UvMapping, first-person renderer rename, WGFM package moves (deleted obsolete breast-armor mixin)
## 1.6.1

### Fixed
  • #4 Elytra is affected by chestplate opacity setting independently of Elytra visibility setting – chestplate slider was bleeding into elytra (same equipment slot). Now elytra has its own independent opacity in EquipmentRendererMixin.java:50 (cfg.elytraOpacity)
  • #5 Mod needed serverside but crashes when on it
  • Dedicated server crash NoClassDefFoundError: net/minecraft/client/gui/screens/Screen at HideArmorNeoForge.<init>:19 – client init was loaded on servers. Now guarded via reflection in HideArmorNeoForge.java:13 → HideArmorNeoForgeClient.java:1
  • Connection Lost: Channel hidearmor:sync missing on server side, but required on client! – made payload optional in HideArmorNeoForge.java:42 (event.registrar("1").optional().playBidirectional(...))
  • Cannot register payload hidearmor:sync as it is already registered – switched from separate playToServer + playToClient to single playBidirectional
  • UnsupportedOperationException: Payload hidearmor:sync may not be sent to the server! on vanilla servers – added hasChannel guard in NeoForgeClientHandler.java:57 and canSend guard in HideArmorFabricClient.java:61
  • Black screen + spam Entity renderers map is empty, will retry later – cape mixin targeted OrderedSubmitNodeCollector/IIII with 0 hits. Fixed CapeRendererMixin.java:43 to SubmitNodeCollector/III (verified via javap -c CapeLayer on minecraft-merged-043a8b3edf-26.2.jar)

### Transparency
  • Restored gradual opacity: Elytra (per-player cfg.elytraOpacity) and Cape (RenderTypes.entityTranslucent + ARGB.color(alpha,255,255,255)) + Trim (armorTranslucent). Skulls/blocks remain hide at 0% (binary) to avoid fragile SkullBlockRenderer mixin.
  • Verified BUILD SUCCESSFUL + build/universal/HideYourArmor-1.6.1-universal.jar
## v1.6.0 - Multi-loader Support

### Added
  • NeoForge support via Architectury + Forgix universal JAR
  • Single JAR works on both Fabric and NeoForge
  • Multi-loader build system (common/, fabric/, neoforge/ modules)

### Changed
  • All mixins and GUI code moved to shared common module
  • Platform-specific code reduced to entrypoints and networking only
# Hide Your Armor 1.5.4

## New Features
  • Presets**: Save and load armor visibility configurations. Create named presets via the new strip above the GUI. Default presets: "Full Visibility" and "Invisible" (cannot be deleted).
  • Smooth Hotbar Animation**: Blocking overlay now scales proportionally with shield opacity instead of binary on/off.
  • FemaleGenderMod Compatibility**: Breast size no longer shrinks when chestplate opacity is set to 0%.
  • Multiplayer Sync**: Config now broadcasts periodically (every 5s) so late joiners receive other players' settings.

## Bug Fixes
  • WGFM breast armor and skin layer now respect other players' opacity settings in multiplayer.
## Hide Your Armor — v1.5.3-beta

### Fixes
  • Shield transparency reworked** — completely rewrote the shield rendering pipeline using SubmitNodeCollector interception, matching how modern MC 26.2 handles translucent models
  • Shield opacity now applies in inventory preview** — added ItemInHandLayer mixin so the preview widget renders the shield at the correct opacity
  • Shield at 0% opacity now hides in preview** — previously showed at full opacity when slider was at 0%
## Hide Your Armor — v1.5.2-beta

### What's New
  • Shield Opacity slider** — replace the old ON/OFF toggle with a full 0–100% opacity slider for shields
  • Hotbar blocking animation** — shield blocking animation now shows in the hotbar when opacity is below 25%
  • Glint toggle on Offhand tab** — the enchantment glint toggle button now appears on both the Armor and Offhand tabs

### Fixes
  • Shield transparency actually works now** (Kinda but still need to fix it) — shield rendering now correctly applies the opacity value in-game and in the inventory preview
  • Glint text repositioned** — "Glint" column header moved above the separator line and now shows on both tabs
  • Shield label renamed** — "Shield Visibility" changed to "Shield Opacity" for clarity

### Updated for Minecraft 26.2
  • Fabric API 0.153.0+26.2
  • Compat level JAVA_25
  • GUI class migration (client.screen → client.gui.screen(), client.setScreen() → client.gui.setScreen())
  • Mixin target fix: HotbarOverlayMixin now targets Hud.class instead of Gui.class
## v1.5.1-beta — Minecraft 26.1.2

### Fixes
  • Fixed keybind category showing as raw key (key.category.hidearmor.main) — now correctly displays as **"Hide Your Armor"** in the Controls menu

### New
  • Added tooltips to the **Skulls & Blocks** and **Elytra** toggle icons in the settings screen
  • Added **shield blocking hotbar effect** — a sweeping cooldown-style overlay animates on the offhand slot while blocking with a hidden shield, and disappears instantly on release

### Internal
  • Updated to **Minecraft 26.1.2** and **Fabric API 0.153.0+26.1.2**
  • Full migration from 1.21.11 rendering pipeline (updated mixin targets, method descriptors, and networking APIs)
  • WGFM compatibility restored
Migration of the mod to Minecraft 26.1 (Fabric)

  • Migrated client GUI elements, rendering screens, and widgets to use the new Mojang Mappings and 26.1 rendering pipeline APIs (converting GuiGraphics to GuiGraphicsExtractor, adjust pose stack matrix3x2f translations, etc.).
  • Renamed networking play registers to use the new serverboundPlay() and clientboundPlay() API methods.
  • Corrected mixin path mappings (e.g. CameraRenderState to its new level subpackage location, ShieldSpecialRenderer, and Wildfire's Gender Rework target classes).
  • Resolved target injection signature crashes by updating method descriptors.
  • Restored WGFM compatibility: adjusted breast armor layer transparency logic to target the updated class structure, and suppressed glint rendering directly via the new inlined MutableBoolean parameters inside the main render methods.
  • Added offhand shield HUD overlay: renders a looping top-to-bottom cooldown-style sweep bar over the offhand hotbar slot while holding down a shield (when shield visibility is hidden) that instantly vanishes upon releasing.
# Hide Your Armour - v1.4.3 Changelog

  • v1.4.3 - The Glint Update**
  • [NEW] Per-Piece Glint Toggles**: Added a new "Enchanted Book" icon next to each slider. Toggle enchantment shimmers on/off for each piece individually!
  • [NEW] Shield Glint**: Full support for hiding the glint on shields.
  • [FIX] Dedicated Server Support**: Refactored mod architecture to split client and common logic. v1.4.3 now correctly loads on **dedicated servers**, enabling the multiplayer sync relay.
  • [FIX] Glint Sync**: Enchantment glint toggles are now included in the networking payload—other players will now correctly see when you've hidden your armor shimmers!
  • [NEW] WGFM Breast Armor Glint**: Added support for Wildfire Gender Mod! You can now hide the glint on breast armor via the Chestplate toggle.
  • [CLEANUP] UI Polish**: Removed leftover debug/warning text and optimized the rendering code for a cleaner look.

### UI Polish
  • This version changes the UI a bit and also fixing some text overlap.
### Major 1.4.0 update
The mod now fully supports multiplayer:
  • Works in: LAN games out of the box. On dedicated servers, both you and the server need the mod installed.**

  • Fixed a bug with armor trims and WGFM mod support.
  • Armor trim is now completly hidden when set transparancy to 0%.

Works on 1.21.11. Fabric renderer.
### Biggest changes yet!

  • Completly redone the GUI, prioritizing UX and polished visuals.
  • Added transparency to armor! After hours of figuring things because default minecraft doesn't support alpha rendering.

Works on 1.21.11.
