Highly Customizable Damage Numbers

This mod adds damage indicators that show the player how much damage each hit does to an entity, the indicators can be customized however the user wants with a wide variety of options available to tweak and play around with.

Make the indicators match the style of the modpack you're using/creating by changing the font style, size, duration, animations, colors, behaviour, and much more. You can even add your own font if you'd like!

This mod is completely standalone and does not depend on any mods other than the modloader itself.

Quick guide

To add your own custom fonts you need an png file with a 10:1 aspect ratio (or 11:1 if the font includes a special glyph for critical strikes) with the font drawn in 1234567890 order, the style can be anything as long as each character is not bigger than 32x32px or smaller than 8x8px. The files that follow the format can be added into the resources folder, reloading the resources or restarting the game will create the neccesary files and allow the font to be selected in-game. The font name must be in characters a-z, 0-9 ._-

A more detailed guide can be accessed directly from the mod settings menu or below.

  • Fixes on the preset manager
  • Updated readme on the config folder
### New stuff:
  • Healing indicators**
  • Presets**
  • Options for showing indicators on self
  • Size based on distance
  • Opacity based on distance
  • Render range can now be adjusted in-game
  • Base indicator transparency

### Fixes/Changes:
  • Entire rework of the config screen**
  • Animations were made smoother
  • Significant optimization fixes for the config screen (oops)
  • The color options were expanded to accomodate for healing indicators color settings
  • Config screen was restructured and is hopefully more easy to navigate now
  • The rendering pipeline was adjusted in order to work in minecraft 26.2+
  • Impact that the indicators are having on the game performance can now be seen in the F3+1 pie chart (root.frame.render.world.level.submitFeatures.hicudan_indicators)

_Additionally, a stress test was performed rendering 200 indicators per tick at a size of 32px with every single animation setting enabled. Under these conditions the mod indicator rendering constituted about 2.6% of the total game load, due to these results the max baseline amount of indicators was increased significantly_

Quick hotfix, render issues fixed
1.20.1 Version as it was specifically requested
Archived all the old mod versions.
Replaced with new version fixes.
_Bringing recent patches to older versions._
  • Also fixed a small issue that caused fadeout to malfunction.
