This mod slightly improves the standard Minecraft recipe book. It’s a lightweight alternative to mods like JEI (Just Enough Items).
The new mod by Max Bel. You can buy me a coffee if you’d like :) — https://ko-fi.com/maxbel

Special JEB mod version 1.0.11-ATM10 (NeoForge 1.21-1.21.1) has been released for compatibility testing with the "All The Mods 10" modpack. Please remove the "FastWorkbench" mod before launching.
IN BETA 1.0.5 - 1.20.1,1.21.4,1.21.5!!! ✨ Added some performance optimizations. 🖱️ You can now middle-click (MMB) an item to instantly view its ingredients. 🔍 Or just type ~[item_id] in the search bar to see what it’s made from!
You can view not only craftable items, but all items. By right-clicking any item, you can see what can be crafted from it (or just add # to the beginning of the search string). You can search by item name, tag name, or tooltip text. And of course, you can place items to craft the recipe! Items are ungrouped (displayed as individual animated buttons), which makes browsing them more convenient.
This is a client-side mod. On any pure vanilla server, it will still show all recipes — even the ones normally hidden from you. If it doesn’t — try pressing the "Load all recipes" button.
It also has a server-side component: if installed on a server, it will send all server's recipes using the standard method, allowing you to see recipes from any mod.
IN BETA 1.0.4!!! 🔍 New Features Mod Element Search: You can now search for items and recipes by mod using the syntax: @[mod name[ element name]]
Hide 3x3 Recipes: A new toggle button allows you to hide 3x3 crafting recipes in the inventory view.
Favorites System:
Hover over an item and press A to add it to your favorites.
While in the favorites tab, pressing A again removes the item.

### Fixes
- Fixed a client crash when opening the inventory.** Searching with
~(show ingredients of an item) crashed the game on recipes without an ingredient list, which some modded and special recipes have. Since JEB restores the last search when a screen opens, the crash then repeated every time the inventory was opened. - Fixed the server freezing and being stopped by the watchdog when a player joins.** Some mods (e.g. Ender IO's Alloy Smelter) use recipe types that can't be sent to clients. JEB already skipped them, but logged a full stack trace for each one. In large modpacks that took long enough for the server watchdog to stop the server. These recipes are now skipped without the stack-trace logging, and the log gets one short summary line per recipe type, once per server start.
- Clicking a recipe now fills the crafting grid even if the recipe isn't unlocked yet.** JEB shows all recipes, but the server only placed ingredients for unlocked ones, so clicking a locked recipe (bucket, anvil, cobblestone slab before unlocking them) silently did nothing. Ingredients are still taken from your inventory, and the
doLimitedCraftinggame rule is still respected. - Fixed some modded recipes showing as craftable with no ingredients in the inventory.** Recipes that a mod marks as not placeable (e.g. Little Big Redstone sticky notes) arrived with an empty ingredient list, which counted as "nothing required". They are no longer marked craftable or shown by the craftable filter, but you can still view them and craft them by hand.
### Notes
- Recipes that can't be sent to clients (such as Ender IO Alloy Smelter recipes) still won't appear in the recipe book. The mod that adds them has to fix this on its side.
- Install the update on both the client and the server. The locked-recipe fix only works when JEB is on the server.

### Fixes
- Fixed disconnect on world join with large modpacks.** Joining a world could fail with "Network Protocol Error" (
NoSuchElementExceptioninhandleRecipeBookAdd) when the server sent recipes without a crafting station or with an empty result. This happened often with modded recipes. Such recipes are now skipped safely. - Fixed favorites not being saved or shown.** Pressing the favorite hotkey flashed the recipe, but nothing was added. Older versions could save
config/JEBfavorites.jsonin the system encoding (e.g. cp1251 on Windows), and non-Latin world or server names then made the file unreadable. Existing files in either encoding are now read correctly and re-saved as UTF-8. No favorites are lost.

### ⌨️ New: JEI-style hover hotkeys
Point at **any** slot in a screen with a recipe book (crafting table, furnace, blast furnace, smoker, player inventory) and press:
- R** — show recipes for the hovered item
- U** — show what the hovered item is used in
The recipe book opens automatically if it was closed. Both keys are rebindable in *Options → Controls → JEB (Just Enough Book)* and are ignored while you are typing in the search field.
### 🔤 Search by displayed name
Recipe results are now matched by their **displayed name** instead of the base item ID. On servers and modpacks where datapack items are registered under a plain vanilla ID (for example several different items on
minecraft:paper) and differ only by a custom name, each one now gets its own search results instead of being lumped together.### ⬆️ Craftable recipes first
Everything you can craft right now is sorted to the top of the results grid — in the main search, in the "recipes for this result" view (middle click) and in the Favorites tab. The order inside each group is unchanged.
