ME-Beam-Former

A lightweight Applied Energistics 2 addon that links two cable-bus parts with a visible, colored beam. It provides a clean, visual way to bridge ME network nodes across a short gap without extra cables.

Features

  • Connect two Beam Former parts facing each other (up to 32 blocks).
  • Real-time visibility of the link as a colored beam (inherits the cable color).
  • Quick toggle: shift-right-click to hide or show the beam per pair.
  • Respects occlusion and part collisions; beam auto-disconnects if blocked.
  • Works with AE2’s grid and uses proper ticking/connection logic.
  • Performance-friendly dynamic rendering with emissive visuals.

Requirements

  • Minecraft: 1.20.1
  • Forge: 47.x
  • Applied Energistics 2: 15.4.x

Notes

  • Designed to match AE2’s look-and-feel and part rendering pipeline.
  • Client-only visuals; server logic stays minimal and safe.
  • Compatible with common rendering optimizers. If you encounter visual glitches with shader/optimization mods, try disabling the specific beam-related setting.

Getting Started

  1. Craft two Beam Formers.
  2. Place them facing each other on cable buses.
  3. Power your ME network and enjoy the link. Use Shift+Right Click on either end to toggle beam visibility.

Enjoy a cleaner ME setup with clear, elegant links between nodes!

1. Optimize the connection logic of the ME beamformer and fix occasional connection instability issues in the AE network.
2. Refactor the rendering effects of the beams to achieve better display effects without using lighting and shadows.
3. Replace the model of the beamformer; now the appearance is cooler.

1.Add Guide Text

2.Fixed the issue where the connection range of the wireless energy sensing tower was not effective
Fixed model loading to only occur on the client side (preventing server crash due to client-only class loading).

## 1. 修复机器连接不受范围限制问题
  • Fix:** Resolved the issue where machine connections were not restricted by range.

## 2. 优化无线能源感应塔的光束渲染,更加的性能友好
  • Optimization:** Improved the beam rendering of the Wireless Energy Induction Tower for better performance.

## 3. 手持光束绑定器,且选中了一个无线能源感应塔时,被连接的机器的边框将会彩虹高亮
  • Feature:** When holding the Beam Binder and selecting a Wireless Energy Induction Tower, connected machines will now display a rainbow-highlighted outline.

1. Fixed recursive crash issue between induction towers
2. Fixed crash issue caused by direct connection to Flux Network access points
3. Adjusted part beam rendering
4. Optimized performance consumption of wireless energy induction towers
5. Adjusted wireless energy transceiver connection range to 20x20x256 (radius)
6. Added lighting to the beam shaper
7. Fixed missing rendering issue for part-shaped beam shapers

Add Wireless Energy Induction Tower. (Use this mod's binder tool to connect)
1. Compatible with Flux Networks mod, supports transfer rates beyond the int maximum value
2. Compatible with Applied Flux mod, supports consuming stored FE power from the AE network
3. Compatible with GregTech mod, supports powering machines from that mod
4. Induction Towers can connect to each other
5. Connection Range: 16x16x256

Added an omnidirectional ME beam former: can be used to connect ME beams arbitrarily within a 16×16×32 range.
