A reliability update: lots of fixes for playback, keybinds, settings, and the Downloader, plus a safer, faster sound library.

### Fixes

  • Fixed not being able to type in the search bar (and other text fields) on Minecraft 26.3.
  • Text fields now work with input methods (IME) for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean on Minecraft 26.1 and 26.2.
  • Pressing a sound twice quickly no longer plays it twice, and Stop now works even while a sound is still loading. "One sound at a time" also holds when two sounds start at once.
  • Key combinations like Ctrl + K can now be bound. Before, pressing Ctrl right away bound Ctrl on its own.
  • Keybinds now keep working when you switch between Minecraft versions.
  • Sounds with the same name in different folders now have their own favorite, volumes, and keybind.
  • Settings follow a sound when you move it to another folder (as long as its file name is unique).
  • Refresh no longer renames your files.** It used to rename sounds silently, turning names with non-Latin letters into "track", and lost their settings.
  • Song previews in the Sound Wheel editor now only play for you, never over voice chat, and no longer stop the sound you were playing.
  • Lowering the number of slots on the Sound Wheel no longer deletes the slots you had assigned beyond it.
  • A broken settings file no longer stops the game from starting. It is set aside as config.json.broken-<date> and the defaults are used.
  • Settings are saved safely, so a crash while saving can no longer damage them.
  • Video thumbnails that fail to load are tried again after a moment.
  • Sounds stop when you disconnect from Plasmo Voice, like they already did for Simple Voice Chat.

### Downloader

  • Downloaded tools (yt-dlp, ffmpeg, deno) are checked against their official checksums, and a download that was interrupted is no longer mistaken for a finished one.
  • Now works on Linux and on ARM computers (Windows and Linux). On macOS it uses the ffmpeg you installed (for example with brew install ffmpeg).
  • yt-dlp updates itself once a day, so YouTube changes do not break downloads for long.
  • A link that is part of a playlist now downloads only that video.
  • Downloads and searches that hang are now stopped after a time limit.

### Performance

  • Searching no longer re-reads the whole sounds folder on every key press.
  • Sound lengths are read from the file headers instead of decoding every sound.

### Good to Know

  • The first time you use the Downloader after updating, it downloads its tools once more, so they can be verified.

A small follow-up to 0.5.0 with a few new options and several fixes.

### New

  • Master volume on the main screen**: a new option in Settings → Audio replaces the per-sound volume sliders on the main screen with the master volume. You get one slider with "Link volumes" on, or two (you and others) with it off.
  • Choose your voice chat**: with both Simple Voice Chat and Plasmo Voice installed, Settings → Audio lets you pick which one to use, or leave it on Automatic.

### Fixes

  • Fixed buttons in the OpenSoundboard screens not reacting to clicks on Minecraft 26.3.
  • Fixed songs freezing when voice chat is turned off in Simple Voice Chat. Sounds now keep playing locally, and the output shows as "paused, only you hear it" until voice chat is turned back on. Muting only your microphone works as before.
  • Long values in the settings (like the current output) now wrap onto several lines instead of being cut off.
  • Every line of a tooltip is now white; before, only the first line was.
  • In the Vanilla style, the selection outline in the sound list is no longer cut off on the left.

### Other Changes

  • Updated to Simple Voice Chat 2.6.24, Fabric API 0.161.0 (26.2 and 26.3), and Fabric Loader 0.19.5.
  • Updated the build tools (Gradle 9.7.1, Loom 1.18.2, Stonecutter 0.9.8).

### Good to Know

  • Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer is now required. On 26.2 and 26.3, Fabric API 0.161.0 or newer is required.

### Good to Know

This release rebuilds the whole interface, adds Plasmo Voice support, makes voice chat optional, turns the sound wheel into a pie menu, and lets you search YouTube right from the game.

### Highlights

  • Added support for **Minecraft 26.3**.
  • Added **Plasmo Voice** support. Simple Voice Chat and Plasmo Voice are now both **optional**: without a voice chat, sounds simply play locally on your computer.
  • Redesigned interface** in both styles:
  • Modern** has a cleaner look with pixel icons and a customizable **accent color** (8 presets or any hex color), background tone, panel opacity, and rounded corners.
  • Vanilla** now uses Minecraft's real buttons, sliders, tabs, and menu backgrounds, and long labels scroll just like in vanilla menus.
  • New settings screen** with four pages: General, Audio, Sound Wheel, and Appearance. Every option has a short description. The Accessibility options (UI width, height, and text size) now live on the Appearance page.
  • Folders inside folders**: organize sounds as deep as you like, with clickable breadcrumbs to jump back up.
  • The **Sound Wheel** is now a pie menu. Point in a direction to pick a slice; names wrap over several lines, and the center shows the full name of the hovered sound.
  • The YouTube Downloader is now the **Downloader**, with a new **Search** mode: results show thumbnail, title, channel, length, and views, and download with one click.

### Soundboard

  • Folders show how many sounds they contain, and search looks through all subfolders.
  • The sound list shows each sound's length.
  • Double-click a sound to play it.
  • Press Enter to play the selected sound, or the first search result.
  • Just start typing to search.
  • The header shows where sounds are currently playing through (Simple Voice Chat, Plasmo Voice, or Local only).
  • Fixed per-sound keybinds not working for sounds inside subfolders.

### Downloader

  • Switch between pasting a link and searching YouTube.
  • The yt-dlp log is hidden by default and can be shown with one button.
  • New "Save to last folder" toggle downloads into the folder you last opened instead of the main sounds folder.

### Sound Wheel

  • Slices use the space they have: labels wrap over multiple lines.
  • Navigate nested folders directly in the wheel.
  • The Wheel Layout editor uses the same pie design.

### Audio

  • New "Play locally without voice chat" option (on by default), and the current output is shown in Settings → Audio.
  • MP3s play even without Simple Voice Chat installed. When it is installed, its faster native decoder is still used.

### Other Changes

  • Mod Menu now shows a full description, links to Modrinth and GitHub, credits, and update checks.
  • Updated to the latest Fabric API, Simple Voice Chat 2.6.23, and Mod Menu for every supported version.
  • Refreshed English and German translations.

### Good to Know

  • Fabric API has to be up to date, since the minimum required version was raised.
  • With Plasmo Voice, sounds are sent while your microphone activation is active (voice activation, or while holding push-to-talk).
  • On Minecraft 26.3, per-sound keybinds created on older Minecraft versions need to be set again, because 26.3 changed how keys are stored.

### Supported Minecraft Versions

  • 1.21 and 1.21.1
  • 1.21.11
  • 26.1, 26.1.1, and 26.1.2

  • Added an optional **Vanilla Components** mode for Minecraft-style buttons, sliders, text fields, toggles, tooltips, and scrollbars.
  • Added a new **Accessibility** screen with adjustable UI width, UI height, and font size, plus a one-click reset. The refreshed defaults are 80% width, 90% height, and 100% font size.

### Improvements & fixes

  • Restored Mod Menu integration so OpenSoundboard settings can be opened from Mod Menu again.
  • Made scrollbars clickable and draggable.
  • Improved screen proportions, control sizing, text scaling, vertical alignment, and long-label truncation across the interface.
  • Made downloader actions more compact and reorganized appearance and accessibility settings into their own category.
