A mod or datapack that prevents pets from getting stuck in unloaded chunks.

Note: The description below is for v1.4 and lower. For v2.0 alpha, head over to the changelogs tab to view all the new changes, however keep in mind that "alpha" means it's still under development and may have some bugs, performance issues, or unfinished features!

Warning: For those who previously downloaded the 1.3 version, please update to 1.4-HOTFIX immediately, as the previous version has a major performance issue related to the end dimension.

Coming Soon:

  • Portal Teleportation: Your pet will get teleported to you when you enter a portal.
  • Whistle: You can manually teleport your pet to you by using /pet with the mod version, or /trigger pet with the datapack version.

  • Major performance improvement:
  • Pets low load 1x1 of chunks instead of 3x3
  • Fixed an issue where unused marker doesn't get removed properly
  • Added: Stationary/Wandering Happy Ghast flying mode in the Pet Menu
  • Updated to 26.2
  • The Pet Menu button has been added to the pause menu

Known Issue:

  • The restrictions on whether or not happy ghast can be teleported (such as when there's a player standing on top of them) are unstable (only on this version)
  • Allay can sometimes teleport inside a block when the player is underground (I'll have to completely redo the teleport mechanic)

Planned:

  • A configuration to toggle individual features, including the teleport GUI, which mobs can be teleported to, and the special happy ghast feature
  • Finishing the Pet Menu, including making the menu only show pets that you actually own

Changelogs:
  • Added support for all type of mounts!
  • The teleport GUI has been overhauled, and it can now be accessed via `/trigger pet` or using the quick action keybind (G by default).
  • Added a bunch of optimization for better server performance (TPS) :)
(changelogs will be added later)
### The public test version of the next major 2.0 release. This version is still WIP and may have issues and is only published for testing purposes, not for general use.

  • New changes from alpha-1:**
  • Completely rewritten how the pack works (again): Switched back to `/forceload command, but without the use of /forceload remove all to ensure compatibility with other packs while still having good performance (the ender pearl method was quite resource-intensive).
  • Added way to add support for modded pets. A proper documentation on this will be published later. (Experimental)
  • Added the teleport command + GUI! (Experimental)
  • You can now teleport either all of your selected pet type, one of the nearest pet type, or the furthest, by either using the /trigger command, or via the custom GUI.
  • The GUI can be accessed only by OP by running the command /dialog show @s ray_allay:teleport. This will be able to be accessed in survival on the later release.
  • Please note that this feature is still experimental, therefore some features are not properly polished yet.**

  • Todo for the next alpha-2.1 update:**
  • Make the custom GUI to be accessible in survival mode without OP permission
  • Add a config to enable/disable each features added by this pack, preferably a template for for vanilla-like settings as well.

  • Planned for a later update:**
  • /whistle command that doesnt use /trigger` for the mod version.
  • A way to disable allay's hitbox when holding a block, that way allays will not be annoying when we're building something, and a way to make them invincible when inside a block we placed.

  • Credit:**
  • VanillaTweaks, for providing the mob head texture used in the teleport GUI <3

### The public test version of the next major 2.0 release. This version is still WIP and may have issues and is only published for testing purposes, not for general use.

  • Changes:**
  • Completely rewritten how the pack works. The pack no longer uses the `/forceload command, meaning the pack also no longer removes forceloaded chunks added by other datapacks for better compatibility.
  • Allays can now load chunks! They will no longer be stuck in unloaded chunks. :D

  • Todo for the next alpha-2 update:**
  • Enable /trigger whistle to call pets (since this feature is currently disabled on all released version).
  • Add modded pet support via Entity Tags.
  • Add the proper server-sided mod for /whistle to not rely on /trigger, and client-sided mod for a keybind to either teleport your pets to you (/whistle`) and to open the teleport UI via keybind.
  • Add a UI to call pets, inspired by Lycanites' Mobs.
  • This UI should have the capability to teleport individual pet types instead of all of your pets at once.
  • This UI should also have the capability to call either your nearest pet or the farthest pet.

  • Performance fix related to the end dimension.

Tested in 1.21.5. 1.21 to 1.21.4 should technically work, but a proper test will be done later.
