Current features:
- The titular (basic) player container! Contained players can either spectate whoever's holding the container or move their camera in a limited range around the container.
- Three extra variants (two survival-obtainable, one creative-only) of the basic container that can hold three, five and infinite players respectively
- A variant of the basic container that captures yourself when used
- Another variant of the basic container that looks like your player model!
- A cage block that works as a container in item form and puts the contained player inside the block when placed
- Player essences, dropped on death
- These will require a special weapon or item in order to obtain them future, however currently they always drop on player death.
- Dispensers can capture and release players from containers
Please note, as the latest version is for showcasing at BlanketCon '25, certain more buggy aspects of the mod have been disabled (notably, players being captured while offline and being able to move containers between dimensions)
Also note that in order to use the mod you need to either disable the playercontainer:restrictToBooth gamerule or make an AreaLib area named playercontainer:booth!
AreaLib is currently required, but I plan to make it an optional dependency in future.

All Versions
+ Add Version- Emergency fix to make sure that it doesn't try to do stuff with containers that don't exist
- Adventure mode behaviour fix that I had done before the emergency fix anyway
- Fixed crash on attempting to stop spectating a container's owner
- Fixed various issues around breaking cages
- Somewhat fixed contained spectators being jittery near the edge of their allowed range
- Added more failsafes to disallowing changing dimensions with a container
- Made the playercontainer:restrict area always work regardless of gamerule
- contained players (which previously had collisions with all blocks as in any other gamemode) now can pass through blocks that are non-opaque or that have blockentity-based rendering
- item rarities fixed (singularity container -> epic, self container -> rare)
- contained players now properly collide with the container radius (as opposed to before where they were teleported back every tick)
- command outputs tweaked slightly (
releasenow outputs whether the release was successful or not, op-exclusive commands now log their outputs)
The main additions are cages, loose players and self containers.
Note that:
- players being contained while offline is disabled because it's still a bit buggy
- there is a new gamerule (playercontainer:restrictToBooth) - when enabled, you can only capture players in the arealib area named playercontainer:booth
- (similarly, players are force-released if their container enters an area named playerconatiner:restrict)
