📮 Post Office Plugin
The ultimate mail system for your Minecraft SMP!
Turn barrels into secure, player-owned post boxes with claim functionality, protection, and notifications.
⚠️ Note: Version 2 introduces a full system rewrite. You'll need to re-register post boxes. Simply remove the player’s name from the sign and follow the setup steps below.

✉️ How It Works
- Drop the JAR into your
/pluginsfolder and restart the server. - Adjust
config.ymlas needed (optional). - Build your post office using barrels as mailboxes.
- Place a sign on the front of a barrel.
- Look at the sign and run:
/postoffice register - Players can then run
/postoffice claimto claim an unclaimed post box. - Admins/mods can claim for others using
/postoffice claim <playername>
🔒 Items can be deposited by anyone but only the owner can retrieve them.
🛡️ Built-in protection ensures post boxes can’t be tampered with. Prefer WorldGuard or another region plugin? You can disable the internal protection in the config.

If any issues are found in your config.yml, default settings will be restored.

🔐 Post Box Protection
Enabled by default, this protects both barrels and signs from griefing.
To disable and use an external protection system, set postbox-protection: false in the config.

Players can now register a primary box in your Post Office building, and can then register a secondary box outside (or inside) their base and it will link back to the inventory of their primary box, shows notifications on the sign and so on.
To use it, your players need to have a primary box and then do the following:
Note: They can remove it by typing **/postoffice removesecondary**. The default config allows them to have 5 secondary boxes, but you can have an infinite amount using -1 in the config.

- Places a sign on their barrel
- Looking at the sign on the barrel, type **/postoffice secondary**
- Enjoy checking their post office barrel in their base

Players with the register permission node can now add text to the first line of a post box sign, allowing the use of tags like [Mod], [Admin] etc. - Colour codes can also be used on this line.

- Please note**: This is essentially a re-write of the plugin in a lot of areas and will require you to setup your players post boxes again - but will better allow me to add new functionality to the plugin moving forward. Lots of cool stuff to come!
To install this plugin, it's best to download a backup of your existing config and then start fresh. You can follow the setup guide here:

- Plugin now uses player UUIDs, no longer relying on player names!
- Post boxes are now stores in a barrels config once registered.
- New permission node allows a player to claim a registered post box by themselves if desired.
- Post boxes are now registered/claimed using commands - no longer restricted by their name fitting on the line.

- Added post box (barrel and sign) protection. Easily disabled in the config if using your own.
- Prevent players from swapping cursor items out of a post box.
- Prevent players from dropping items out of a post box.
- Prevent players from condensing items out of a post box.
- Add a 10 second delay to the "You have mail" notification when connecting.
- Added a plugin update notification system.
- Added extra language translation options to the config file.
- Removed the barrelname command as this should only be set once. Edit the config directly and use /postoffice reload to update the barrel name.
