Railway Tools for Axiom
Catmull-Rom spline railway corridor generator for Axiom, built for scale infrastructure and BuildTheEarth workflows.
Railway Tools for Axiom extends Axiom's in-game toolset with a dedicated rail corridor generator. Place a chain of control points along your route, and the tool computes smooth curves, selects the right structural blocks, and orients every corner, shelf, lectern, and wall segment automatically instead of forcing you to hand-place thousands of diagonal blocks.
Independent addon. Developed by a single author for large-scale 1:1 infrastructure builds; not officially affiliated with Axiom or the BuildTheEarth organization.
Core Capabilities
| Feature | |
|---|---|
| Catmull-Rom Spline Interpolation Generates continuous, mathematically smooth railway curves across any number of control points. Preserves tangent continuity from segment to segment so tracks never break into jagged kinks on long turns. |
|
| Tangent-Aware Block Orientation Every lateral wall, corner connection, curve marker, and diagonal joint is oriented per segment from local path tangent and curvature, keeping track gauge and block states consistent at every angle. |
|
| Automatic Ground Snapping When terrain-following is enabled, each spline sample scans vertically for the nearest solid surface and adapts track elevation to existing topography on the fly. |
|
Adjustable Sampling Density (2 – 32 pts/block)Dial spline resolution straight from the tool panel: low density for rapid straight-line corridors, or up to 32 samples per block for tight-radius switchbacks and station throats. |
Two Built-In Track Styles
Switch between two specialized railway palettes directly inside Axiom's tool panel:
| Mode | Block Composition & Use Case | |
|---|---|---|
| Classic | Dead fire coral wall fans along the centerline, mud brick walls as lateral rails (automatically straight or cornered from curve geometry), and spruce shelves / trapdoors as curve indicators. Clean, structured look ideal for surveying, corridors, and urban transit. | |
| Natural | Lecterns along the centerline (switching to pale moss blocks on inclined grades), gravel ballast along lateral rails, and directional leaf litter detailing on curves and diagonal intersections. Built for realistic mainlines and rural right-of-ways. |
Installation & Axiom Permissions
- Install Fabric Loader, Fabric API, and Axiom for your Minecraft version (
1.21.10,1.21.11, or26.2). - Drop the Railway Tools for Axiom
.jarinto your client.minecraft/mods/folder. - Open Axiom's editor UI in game to select the Railway tool, pick Classic or Natural, and place control points along your alignment.
Required Axiom Server Permissions
When building on a multiplayer server with Axiom installed, your account needs two standard Axiom capabilities granted by the server:

All Versions
+ Add VersionAxiom 6.1.3.
Java 25, Gradle 9.8.2, Loom 1.19.
Minecraft 26.x ships unobfuscated: the build no longer declares mappings and
no longer remaps, so dependencies are plain implementation and the jar
task produces the release artifact directly.
The custom tool draws through Axiom's IAxiomWorldRenderContext instead of
the old camera/pose/projection tuple.
The title-screen credit draws through 26.2's GuiGraphicsExtractor; the
injection sits on Screen because TitleScreen no longer overrides the
render hook.
