📖 About This Mod
RCT Soft Level Cap is a Quality of Life (QoL) addon designed to resolve the frustration of being unable to use high-level Pokémon in battles due to the RCT mod's level cap system. Now, you can freely include your powerful Pokémon in your party without worrying about level restrictions—while also preventing them from completely overwhelming the battle!
✨ Key Features
Level Cap Bypass: High-level Pokémon exceeding the level cap are no longer blocked from entering battles.
Temporary Level Scaling: During battles, your Pokémon's levels will be temporarily scaled down to match the current level cap.
Full Restoration: After the battle ends, your Pokémon will immediately regain their original levels, EXP, and equipped moves.
Dynamic Level Cap Sync: The mod reads the current level cap (which changes based on RCT's progression) at the start of every battle to ensure accurate scaling.
🛡️ Exceptions & Compatibility
Battle Tower Excluded: This scaling system does not apply to special Battle Tower matches that forcefully adjust levels to 50 or 100.
Cobbleverse Compatible: Fully tested and compatible with the Cobbleverse Project.
⚙️ Installation & Requirements
Environment: Works perfectly in both Singleplayer and Dedicated Servers.
Installation: Required on the server-side. Client-side installation is allowed but strictly optional.

Compatibility Warning: This mod utilizes Mixins into the internal methods of RCT and RCT API. Therefore, major updates to the original mods may break compatibility. We recommend backing up your worlds before updating.

How to Install RCT Soft Level Cap mod (Mod)
RCT Soft Level Cap mod by Bori_0815 is verified for Fabric across Minecraft versions 1.21.1 (latest release: 0.2.0, file size: 14 KB). Follow the steps below to install it safely from ModCraft.tv:
- Click the Download button above and select your Minecraft version (1.21.1) and platform (Fabric).
- Make sure you have the compatible loader or environment installed for Fabric.
- Move the downloaded RCT Soft Level Cap mod file into your Minecraft
.minecraft/modsfolder and launch the game.

### Soft Level Cap
- Overleveled Pokémon are temporarily scaled down to the current RCT level cap during battle.
- Already learned moves remain available, even if their learning level exceeds the battle cap.
- Pokémon retain their original level after battle.
- Experience gain follows RCT's existing level-cap rules.
- EV gains remain subject to the normal limits of 252 per stat and 510 total.
### Important: Battle Tower Compatibility Changes
The Battle Tower compatibility fixes included in version 0.1.8 are **not included in 0.2.0**. These fixes covered:
- Correct custom Pokémon forms and models in Battle Tower party previews, including Laser's Fakemon.
- Correct custom held-item models and display names in Battle Tower previews.
- Recognizing distinct custom held items instead of treating them as the same vanilla backing item.
- Handling Pokémon that were already Mega Evolved when registering a team.
These features have been separated into a dedicated Battle Tower addon. That addon has not yet been validated for this release.
If you rely on these Battle Tower fixes, keep your existing 0.1.8 setup until an updated addon is available.

Added Battle Tower compatibility for custom held items created with Filament and Mega Showdown.
Custom held items are now identified by their semantic item ID instead of their shared vanilla backing item.
Added proper custom Pokémon form names, aspects, and models to Battle Tower party previews.

Pokémon that enter the Battle Tower while already Mega Evolved are now reverted in the captured team snapshot, preserving the normal in-battle Mega Evolution opportunity.
## Existing Soft Level Cap Behavior
Pokémon above the RCT level cap are temporarily scaled down only for the battle.
Original levels and existing experience remain unchanged.
Battle results—including experience gains, HP, PP, persistent status conditions, and EV gains—are safely merged back into the original Pokémon.
EV gains remain limited to 252 per stat and 510 in total.

You can use high-level Pokémon freely with the RCT mod.
Your pokemon's level will be temporarily scaled down during battle, so you don't have to worry about level cap restrictions anymore.
Pokemon's that below the level cap will not be affected.
