Reliable Name Tags
Lets you right-click Name Tags in the air to change their name - a port of Convenient Name Tags to modern versions.
Installation
Reliable Name Tags is a client and server mod for Fabric and NeoForge 1.21.1 and 26.1.2. Its dependencies are listed below.
Dependencies
- MRU is required.
- McQoy is recommended to configure the mod.
- On Fabric, Placeholder API is recommended.
- On NeoForge, Placeholder API NeoForge or Better ModList is recommended.
Features
- Anvils are no longer required to rename a name tag. Just right click with the name tag, and a screen will open allowing the name tag to be renamed.
- Renaming screen supports Placeholder API's QuickText format.
- Renamed mobs will drop their name tags when killed. They can also be sheared to remove the name.
FAQ
- Will this mod be ported to other versions/loaders?
- The mod actively supports the latest version of Minecraft (currently 26.3). There is no plan to backport to older versions, please use the original mod.

Reliable Name Tags is available under the open source Apache 2.0 License. Note that this means you are required to attribute the mod if you use any content from it in your own projects.

How to Install Reliable Name Tags (Mod)
Reliable Name Tags by Cassian is verified for Fabric, Neoforge across Minecraft versions 1.21, 1.21.1, 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2, 26.2-rc-1, 26.2-rc-2 (latest release: 2.1.0+26.1.2-neoforge, file size: 318 KB). Follow the steps below to install it safely from ModCraft.tv:
- Click the Download button above and select your Minecraft version (1.21, 1.21.1, 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2, 26.2-rc-1, 26.2-rc-2) and platform (Fabric, Neoforge).
- Make sure you have the compatible loader or environment installed for Fabric, Neoforge.
- Move the downloaded Reliable Name Tags file into your Minecraft
.minecraft/modsfolder and launch the game.
