Seamless Ores adds ore variants for the stones ore generates in, such as granite, andesite, tuff and dripstone, and the stones other mods add. Each variant uses its stone as the background, so the ore matches the wall it sits in.
The amount of ore in the Overworld stays almost exactly the same, because the veins are the same and in the same places; only their look changes. The few settings that do change the amount are listed below, and each has its own switch.
Resource pack
Seamless Glowing Ores is the companion resource pack. Ores glow in the dark, with an optional connected outline that joins ore of the same type across different stones, with animated and subtle versions. It needs only Fusion.
Stones
Ore gets a variant in granite, diorite, andesite, tuff and dripstone, and gold and quartz in basalt and blackstone in the Nether. The Sulfur Caves' cinnabar holds ores too, on Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3, and on 1.21.1 and 1.20.1 with Vanilla Backport. The deep blackstone that Terralith lays in its caves gets matching ore on every version.
Stones from other mods are covered as well, each with the vanilla and modded ores that really form inside it:
Blockus, Born in Chaos, Create, Create: TFMG, Forbidden and Arcanus, Let's Do Meadow, Mythic Upgrades, Promenade, Spawn, Twigs and Wilder Wild.
Calcite and smooth basalt get ore only where Create's stone layers place them.
Ores from other mods
The ores of these mods get variants in the stones they generate in:
Cobblemon, Create, Create: New Age, Create: TFMG, Dense Mekanism, Energized Power, Exp Ores, Extreme Reactors, Ice and Fire (Community Edition), Immersive Engineering, Malum, Mekanism, Modern Industrialization, Mystical Agriculture, Mythic Metals, Mythic Upgrades, Occultism, Oreganized, Powah, Silent Gear, Silent's Gems, Tech Reborn and Things.
Not every mod has a build for every Minecraft version and loader, so the blocks you get depend on what you have installed. A modded block exists only when the mods it belongs to are installed, so there is nothing to configure. The variants carry the same tags, drops, experience, hardness and mining level as the ore they replace, so JEI, REI, Jade, ore doubling and processing chains treat them as ordinary ore.
Amount of ore
A block that becomes granite iron ore was already going to be iron ore, and a vein running from stone into granite changes look block by block. These settings are the exceptions:
- Copper. Vanilla's large copper veins and dripstone caves look like solid copper once the stone around the ore matches, so ordinary copper defaults to 75 percent and dripstone caves to 50 percent. Set both to 100 for vanilla amounts.
- Lush Caves. Ore left bare in their clay and moss becomes clay or moss. This removes a little ore, only there.
- Sulfur Caves (26.2 and 26.3, and 1.21.1 and 1.20.1 with Vanilla Backport). No ore sits in or against their sulfur and cinnabar. This removes ore, only there.
- Cinnabar ores (the same versions). Gold, iron, redstone and the modded ores that occur beside cinnabar form inside it, in the same veins and at the same rates as the ore they stand in for. This adds ore, only in cinnabar, with a slider for how much.
- Geology, off by default. When on, ore stops forming in the vanilla stones it could never form in, such as coal in granite. This removes ore. Ores in other mods' stones always follow a fixed version of this rule, and Cobblemon's evolution stones keep only the stones that fit their lore (with Geology on, in the vanilla stones as well, on 1.21.1 and 1.20.1).
The Nether
Vanilla gold and quartz only generate in netherrack, so their basalt and blackstone versions are new ore rather than a restyle. They are on by default, and the same goes for the Nether ores of the supported mods. Nether ore rarity (one in two by default) and Nether vein size (80 percent by default) control how much of it forms, and turning basalt and blackstone off brings Nether generation back to vanilla. Bastions are protected, so their walls never turn into ore.
Compatibility
Worldgen overhauls and ore distribution datapacks keep their own settings, including Terralith, because existing ore features are extended rather than replaced.
Settings
The settings screen opens from Mod Menu on Fabric, or from the mods list on NeoForge and Forge. Every stone can be switched off and each supported mod has its own section; sections for mods you do not have are hidden. Settings never change which blocks exist, only what generates, so a client and a server with different settings always agree. Changes apply to newly generated chunks.
Supported versions

| 1.21.11 | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| 1.21.4 to 1.21.10 | Yes | Yes | n/a |

| 1.20 to 1.20.1 | Yes | 1.20.1 | Yes |
There is one file per loader, and it picks the right build for the version it is installed on. On NeoForge 1.20.1 the NeoForge file runs the Forge build, which NeoForge supports at that version. Tested in game: Fabric on 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 1.21.10, 1.21.11, 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3, NeoForge on 1.21.1, 1.21.4, 1.21.11, 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3, and Forge on 1.20.1, 1.21.1 and 1.21.11.
Dependencies
| Mod | Fabric | NeoForge | Forge |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fabric API | Required | n/a | n/a |
| Cloth Config | Required | Required | Required on 1.20.x to 1.21.1 |
| Cloth Config API Forge | n/a | n/a | Required on 1.21.11 |
| Mod Menu | Optional | n/a | n/a |
On Forge 1.21.11, Cloth Config has no Forge build, so it comes from Cloth Config API Forge, a separate project. Because one Forge file covers versions that need different ones, both are listed as optional on the Forge file; install the one for your version. Every stone and ore mod above is optional.
Common questions
I have Seamless Ores: Matrix installed. What should I do? Matrix is now part of Seamless Ores and is no longer available on its own. Update Seamless Ores to 5.0.0 or newer first, then delete the Matrix file from your mods folder. Your worlds are safe: while both are installed Seamless Ores steps aside, and once Matrix is gone the Matrix ores already in your worlds become Seamless Ores' own blocks.
Does it work in an existing world? Yes, in chunks you have not visited yet. Explored areas keep what they have.
Does it work on a server? Yes, install it on both sides.

## Deep blackstone
- Terralith lays blackstone deep in its thermal and mantle caves, and the game's ore lands in it there. That ore now matches the blackstone, on every version, with Terralith as a mod or as a datapack.
- Ore that Terralith's caves wall in (the large iron veins among them) is restyled at the end of each chunk, so it no longer shows as tuff or deepslate ore inside blackstone. In a test area of 441 chunks on 1.21.1, walled-in ore went from 1,607 blocks to 91.
- It follows the fixed geology rule, like every stone another mod places.
## Vanilla Backport (1.21.1 and 1.20.1)
- The Sulfur Caves stay bare**, as on 26.2 and 26.3: no ore in or against their sulfur and cinnabar, the large copper and iron veins included. In 49 test chunks, ore touching sulfur or cinnabar went from 323 to 0 on 1.21.1 and from 589 to 0 on 1.20.1. This removes a little ore, and has its own switch.
- Cinnabar ores**: gold, iron and redstone, plus the silver, lead, antimony and sulfide ores of Create, Tech Reborn, Occultism, Silent Gear, Immersive Engineering, Mekanism, Dense Mekanism, Modern Industrialization, Oreganized, Ice and Fire Community Edition, Mythic Metals and Create: The Factory Must Grow where those are installed, in the same veins as their originals. A new Sulfur Caves config tab has the switch and an amount slider. They exist only with Vanilla Backport installed.
## Born in Chaos (1.21.1 NeoForge, 1.20.1 Forge)
Its black argillite now holds ore that matches it, under the fixed geology rule.
## Ice and Fire Community Edition
- New silver and sapphire art, drawn from the Community Edition's own textures, on every version, and deepslate silver gets art of its own.
- Now on 1.21.1 NeoForge, 1.20.1 Fabric and 26.1.2 NeoForge as well as 1.20.1 Forge. On 26.1.2 it supports the Community Edition's current beta build, its only build there.
## Promenade
Asphalt and blunite on 26.3 NeoForge, and on 1.21.1 Fabric and NeoForge, Promenade's first builds there.
## Cobblemon
The evolution stone ores in other mods' stones now follow the geology rule too, by lore: each stone keeps only the rock it belongs in (fire stone in volcanic rock, water stone in limestone and marble, moon and sun stone where their real feldspars form, and so on). This removes evolution stone ore from the stones it does not fit.
With the Geology option on (off by default), the same lore also applies in the game's own granite, diorite, andesite and tuff, on 1.21.1 and 1.20.1.
## Chat note
The one-time note in chat can be turned off in the config (Client tab, 26.x). A modpack can also ship
config/seamlessores-note.txt to skip it.## Deep blackstone

- The ores in other mods' stones that used to need Matrix are built in: Blockus, Create, Forbidden and Arcanus, Mythic Upgrades, Promenade and Wilder Wild on 26.x, as before.
- New on 1.21.x and 1.20.1**: the same, plus Create: TFMG, Twigs, Spawn and Let's Do Meadow, on the versions those mods exist for. Up to 1,170 more blocks on 1.20.1 and 886 on 1.21.1.
- Ore in these stones follows a fixed geology rule, so it only forms where it could really form.
- Two creative tabs: Vanilla Stones and Modded Stones.
## Coming from Matrix
- Update Seamless Ores first, then delete the Matrix file. Matrix blocks already in your worlds become Seamless Ores' own blocks, in place and in inventories.
- While both are installed, Seamless Ores steps aside and Matrix keeps working, so nothing is generated twice.
## On 1.21.x and 1.20.1
Everything 4.5.0 brought to 26.x: dripstone variants, Lush Caves clay and moss, and the new Geology option. Sulfur Caves and cinnabar exist only on 26.2 and 26.3.
## Malum
Soulstone, natural quartz, brilliance and blazing quartz variants on 1.21.1 and 1.20.1, with the permission of Sammy Semicolon. Cthonic gold gets no variant, so its clusters still grow.
## Geology
A new option, **off by default**. When on, ore stops forming in vanilla stones it could never form in, such as coal in granite or diamond in andesite. This removes ore: coal 11 percent, diamond under 2 percent, in a test area of 81 chunks.
## Fixes
- Silk Touch on Tech Reborn's ruby, sapphire, cinnabar and sphalerite variants now drops the variant, not Tech Reborn's own ore.
- The variants of Powah's uraninite, Silent Gear's bort, Silent's Gems' chaos and silver, and Dense Mekanism's ores now need the same pickaxe tier as the ore they replace.
- Seamless Ores no longer stops Malum's cthonic gold from growing clusters.
## The rest
- Every existing block keeps its id, so existing worlds load as before.
- Version numbers are now the same on every Minecraft version.
This file covers Minecraft 1.20 to 1.21.1 and 1.21.4 to 26.3. Needs Fabric API and Cloth Config.
## Modded stones
- The ores in other mods' stones that used to need Matrix are built in: Blockus, Create, Forbidden and Arcanus, Mythic Upgrades, Promenade and Wilder Wild on 26.x, as before.
- New on 1.21.x and 1.20.1**: the same, plus Create: TFMG, Twigs, Spawn and Let's Do Meadow, on the versions those mods exist for. Up to 1,170 more blocks on 1.20.1 and 886 on 1.21.1.

- Version numbers are now the same on every Minecraft version.
This file covers Minecraft 1.21, 1.21.1 and 1.21.4 to 26.3, and 1.20.1 through the Forge build, which NeoForge runs at that version. Needs Cloth Config.
## Modded stones

This file covers Minecraft 1.20, 1.20.1, 1.21, 1.21.1 and 1.21.11. Needs Cloth Config, or Cloth Config API Forge on 1.21.11.
- 81 new blocks**: coal, copper, iron, gold, redstone, lapis lazuli and diamond in dripstone, plus every Overworld ore of the supported mods. Emerald is left out, because it never generates in dripstone caves.
- Ore that a dripstone cave covers in dripstone now becomes the dripstone version of the same ore, one for one. **The amount of ore does not change.**
- Each one drops, mines and gives experience exactly like the stone ore it stands in for.
- With no other mods installed, 7 of the 81 exist. The rest appear with their mod.
## Lush Caves
- Ore left bare in a Lush Caves clay floor, clay pool or moss carpet now becomes clay or moss.
- This removes ore**: 270 of 14,768 ores, under 2 percent, in a test area of 49 chunks centred on Lush Caves. Nothing changes outside Lush Caves.
- Bone meal on moss works exactly as in vanilla.
## Sulfur Caves
- No ore sits in or against the sulfur and cinnabar of the Sulfur Caves any more, vanilla or modded, and neither do the large copper and iron veins that used to cut through them.
- This removes ore**: 13,275 ores became 11,217 in a test area of 49 chunks centred on Sulfur Caves. Nothing changes outside the Sulfur Caves.
- Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3, the versions that have Sulfur Caves.
## Cinnabar ores
- Ores now form inside the Sulfur Caves' cinnabar: the ones that really occur beside cinnabar in hot spring deposits. **Gold, iron and redstone**, plus **silver** (Tech Reborn, Occultism), **zinc** (Create) and Tech Reborn's **galena, lead, pyrite and sphalerite**.
- Each forms in the same veins as the ore it stands in for: the same vein size, the same number of veins per chunk and the same heights, only inside cinnabar.
- This adds ore**, only in cinnabar, which vanilla leaves empty. In the same test areas, between 1,305 and 1,928 cinnabar ore blocks across 49 chunks at the default amount.
- Each one drops, mines and gives experience exactly like the ore it stands in for.
- Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3.
## Config
- Dripstone variants** and **Lush Caves clay and moss** are in the Overworld section.
- A new **Sulfur Caves** section, shown on Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3 only, holds **Cinnabar ores**, a **Cinnabar ore amount** slider (0 to 300 percent of the default) and **Sulfur Caves stay bare**.
- Everything is on by default. Turn Cinnabar ores off to add no ore, and Lush Caves or Sulfur Caves off to keep every ore. Like every setting, these apply to newly generated chunks.
- 8 new blocks**: lead and silver, each in granite, diorite, andesite and tuff.
Both ores already generate in stone, granite, diorite, andesite, deepslate and tuff, so all eight variants are a pure restyle. The same veins in the same places, the same drops, the same experience and the same pickaxe, with the background matched to the rock around it.
The Oreganized overlays are drawn from its own ore textures and are used with the permission of Binome of Team Galena.
## Fixed
- The Mekanism variants dropped nothing when mined.** Their drops were in the file but never loaded on Forge. They now drop exactly what Mekanism's own ore does, with Fortune and Silk Touch working as usual.

Oreganized's Fabric build for 1.20.1 is on Modrinth only.

## One file for 26.1 to 26.3
This file runs on Minecraft 26.1, 26.1.1, 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3, and replaces the separate 26.1.x, 26.2 and 26.3 files. On each version it behaves exactly as the file for that version did: the same blocks, the same generation, the same drops and the same config.
## Mythic Upgrades on 26.3
- 24 blocks**: aquamarine, citrine, peridot, topaz and necoium in granite, diorite, andesite and tuff, and ruby and sapphire in basalt and blackstone. They were already supported on 26.2, and Mythic Upgrades now has a 26.3 build.
## Seamless Ores: Matrix
A companion mod is out. **Seamless Ores: Matrix** does the same for the stones other mods add, such as Create's layers, Blockus and the Mythic Upgrades schists. A short note in chat points to it the first time you play with this version and when you start a new world. It never shows when Matrix is installed.
## Cloth Config on NeoForge
Cloth Config is now optional on NeoForge for every 26.x version, not only 26.3. Without it the mod runs on its default settings and has no config screen, and everything else works exactly the same.

## Immersive Engineering
- 20 new blocks**: aluminum, lead, nickel, silver and uranium, each in granite, diorite, andesite and tuff.
Immersive Engineering redrew its nickel and uranium ore after 1.20.1, so this file uses the 1.20.1 drawing of both and the 1.21.1 file uses the newer one. Either way the variants match the ore you actually have.
## Mekanism
- 20 new blocks**: osmium, tin, lead, uranium and fluorite, each in granite, diorite, andesite and tuff.
Mekanism draws its tin ore differently on 1.20.1, and this file uses that drawing for the same reason.
Every one of these ores already generates in stone, granite, diorite, andesite, deepslate and tuff, so all forty variants are a pure restyle. The same veins in the same places, the same drops, the same experience and the same pickaxe, with the background matched to the rock around it.
Both mods build for Forge and NeoForge at Minecraft 1.20.1, and this Forge file runs on both.
The Immersive Engineering overlays are drawn from its own ore textures and are used with the permission of BluSunrize. The Mekanism overlays are drawn from its ore textures, which are MIT licensed.
Nothing else has changed. The same blocks, the same ids, the same generation and the same config as 4.0.0.
Nothing changes in game: the same blocks, the same ids, the same generation and the same config as 4.0.0. Existing worlds and settings carry over untouched.
Immersive Engineering and Mekanism support arrived in this release, but both mods build for Forge and NeoForge only at Minecraft 1.20.1, so that part reaches the Forge file only.
