FINALLY! Put stuff on slabs!

Hang lanterns from slabs! Stack blocks on slabs! Stack blocks on those blocks on those slabs! Your slabs finally get the love they deserve 💖

What Slabbed does

Slabs are the overlooked middle child of Minecraft building. They look like they should support things, connect to things, and behave like real building surfaces, but the game often treats them like awkward not-quite-blocks instead.

Slabbed changes that. Supported blocks and objects treat slabs like actual building surfaces. Torches, hanging things, bits and bobbles, blocks, and more! They sit where the slab surface really is instead of floating, refusing to place or landing somewhere you very obviously did not aim. Errybody loves slabs, and now with Slabbed they're truly functional! 'Bout time.

In vanilla Minecraft ✨With Slabbed✨
❌ Many blocks want a full block underneath them. Slabs do not always count, which is lame. ✅ Supported blocks and objects can use slab surfaces and sit at the correct height.
❌ Lanterns, torches, signs and other objects may float, refuse to attach or land at full-block height. ✅ Common standing and hanging objects line up with the slab surface supporting them.
❌ Building upward from slabs gets floaty and sad. ✅ Blocks can stack naturally through slab-supported structures.
❌ What you see and what Minecraft thinks is there may disagree. ✅ The block, its outline and what your crosshair actually targets stay together.
❌ A block may change height after something nearby updates. ✅ Newer Slabbed files record its placement height and keep it there.

🔒 New: your blocks stay where you put them

Older Slabbed builds worked out a block's height while you looked at it. Mostly fine! Except when it wasn't: break something nearby, place something next to it, let a chunk reload, and a block you placed ages ago could quietly decide to sit somewhere else. Nobody asked it to. It just did.

Now the height is decided once, at the moment you place the block, and then it is locked. Neighbors can come and go. Chunks can reload. The block does not care. It stays exactly where you put it.

⚠️ One catch... That locked-in height only exists for blocks placed with Slabbed 0.5 or later. If you open a world built with a version before 0.5, things you already lowered won't have that record, and they'll sit at normal height instead. Nothing is deleted or corrupted — but back up any world you care about before opening it in a new build, and try a copy first. Automatic conversion for old worlds is on my list.

The 0.6.x builds also include /slabdy settings and two initially unbound height-adjustment keys in Options > Controls > Slabbed. The keys adjust player-placed blocks with recorded heights; on shared worlds they require creative mode or op level 2.

Countered’s Terrain Slabs compatibility

Countered's Terrain Slabs is optional but highly recommended if you enjoy more natural, layered terrain.

In newer 0.5.2 files, Terrain Slabs slabs placed by a player behave much more like vanilla slabs:

  • They can seat on lowered supports.
  • They can cantilever at the matching height.
  • They stack and descend with the structure.
  • They support the blocks and objects placed on them.
  • They are no longer silently refused or left floating at grid height in supported arrangements.

Naturally generated Terrain Slabs terrain is deliberately left under Terrain Slabs’ control. Slabbed does not stamp saved placement heights onto world generation and turn the landscape into a festival of see-through seams.

Compatibility differs between Slabbed files, and very deep or heavily mixed arrangements can still have version-specific limits. Check the release notes for the exact file you use.

Slabby foliage remains important, obviously.

✧ Still pre-release

Slabbed files are currently alpha or beta, depending on the Minecraft and loader line.

The common behavior has received a frankly unreasonable amount of focused testing, but heavily customized modded blocks can still need dedicated compatibility work—especially mods that replace rendering, collision, placement, models or world movement.

Older Minecraft lines also do not automatically inherit every improvement from the newest file. If a feature matters to your build, check the changelog for that exact download rather than assuming every slab in every timeline has achieved enlightenment.

If something looks wrong, it probably is, and it is probably worth reporting.

Just check whether somebody has already reported it first, pleeease.

Compatibility

Minecraft Loader
26.2–26.3 Fabric (0.6.3-alpha, one unified file)
26.2 / 26.3 NeoForge (0.6.2-alpha, separate files)
26.1 / 26.1.2 Fabric
1.21.11 Fabric
1.21.1 Fabric and NeoForge
1.20.1 Forge

The Fabric 26.1.2 line received a one-time 0.6.2-alpha refresh and is frozen unless demand returns. The older 26.1 files remain separate.

  • Fabric builds require Fabric API.
  • Slabbed supports singleplayer and multiplayer.
  • For multiplayer, install Slabbed on both the client and server so placement data, visuals, outlines and targeting all agree. This is required for the NeoForge 26.2 and 26.3 builds.
  • Not every Minecraft and loader line has the same Slabbed feature set yet. Always choose the file made for your exact game version and read its notes on the Versions page.

Reporting bugs

Bug reports are super duper helpful! The most useful reports include:

  • Your Minecraft and Slabbed versions
  • Your loader version and Fabric API version, where applicable
  • Your other mods, especially Terrain Slabs, Lithium or mods that change rendering and movement
  • The exact blocks used and the order you placed them
  • What you expected versus what actually happened
  • A screenshot or short video, especially for visual height, outline, crosshair or placement problems

The 0.5.x and 0.6.x files include the /slabdy height readout, switched off until you ask for it. Type /slabdy to toggle it. Including that readout in a report makes mysterious half-block problems considerably less mysterious.

For lag reports, comparing the same scene with Slabbed enabled and disabled is much more useful than “it lags.” Both are technically sentences, but only one gives me somewhere to start.

A development journal for Slabbed

Curious how “put a torch on a slab” became all of this?

The Slabbed Field Guide follows the project’s development, the decisions behind it and the strange collection of Minecraft systems that become involved when a block moves half a meter.

Updated with Codex, designed and overseen by me.

Slabbed's goal is simple:

Things should sit where they look like they sit.

Minecraft makes that surprisingly complicated.

Thanks!

If you find wonky code that could be improved, pull requests are welcome. Bug reports, screenshots, videos and bizarre little edge cases are welcome too. They have already made Slabbed much better.

Thank you for playing with Slabbed and helping me make it what it is!

## Slabbed 0.6.3-alpha+26.2-26.3 — Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3 (Fabric)

For Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3 on Fabric. Requires Fabric API and Java 25.

The exact Minecraft 26.2/Lootr combination reported by [iSeoull in #105](https://github.com/peetsamods/slabbed/issues/105) remains unverified. The confirmed chunk-loading reproduction used Minecraft 26.3 with Lootr 1.25.42.124. No blanket resolution of #105 is claimed.

Known validation limits: the full Lithium/Lootr suite is not green. Five redstone checks also fail on the prior release; four other failures are vanilla catalog expectations affected by Lootr. These checks remain outside this patch. Rapid world replacement with queued render jobs remains unproven.

First Slabbed builds for NeoForge on Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3, one jar each from the same source. They carry the full 0.6 feature set of the Fabric 26.2/26.3 line: placement heights are recorded where you aim and kept for good, lowered slabs support the same objects, pistons carry stored heights, rails slope to meet their neighbours, fence posts meet a nearby slab ceiling, hung decorations keep their seat, the settings screen and the two height-nudge key bindings.

The 26.2 jar needs NeoForge 26.2.0.88 or newer; the 26.3 jar needs NeoForge 26.3.0.48-beta or newer. Both run on Java 25. No Fabric API or Forgified Fabric API. Cushions (26.3 content) rest on lowered blocks on the 26.3 jar.

Differences on NeoForge:

  • Lowered blocks are drawn through NeoForge's own block-model hooks rather than the Fabric renderer API. The result is the same geometry; mods that replace the chunk renderer (Sodium) have not been checked on this build.
  • The settings screen opens from the mod list's config button as well as /slabdy settings.
  • Climbing a lowered scaffolding's drawn volume goes through NeoForge's scaffolding hook.
  • Slabbed must be installed on both the client and the server on NeoForge (its synced chunk and entity data are registered as required attachment types).
  • The two manual height-nudge keys do nothing on a server that does not run Slabbed.
  • No Sable or Relatively Placed Blocks compatibility on these builds yet (the Fabric 26.x line has none either).

For Minecraft 26.2 (NeoForge 26.2.0.88 or newer) and 26.3 (NeoForge 26.3.0.48-beta or newer), Java 25. No Fabric API needed.

This is an alpha. If anything misbehaves, please open a report at https://github.com/peetsamods/slabbed/issues with your game version, loader and Slabbed version.

For Minecraft 26.2 (NeoForge 26.2.0.88 or newer) and 26.3 (NeoForge 26.3.0.48-beta or newer), Java 25. No Fabric API needed.

One file now covers Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3 on Fabric. Behaviour on 26.3 is unchanged from 0.6.1-alpha; on 26.2 this is the first build with everything the 26.3 line gained since the two versions split.

  • Minecraft 26.2 players get the full 0.6 feature set in this one download: the settings file and /slabdy settings screen, the two height-nudge key bindings, pistons carrying stored heights, minecarts and armor stands seated on lowered blocks, ambient and event particles at the drawn height, the lowered-band lighting fix, the rail and redstone work, and every fix the 26.3 line has shipped since.
  • The handful of places where the two game versions differ (the redstone wire and dirt path class names, the use-item packet fields, the arm swing after a placement, the Fabric renderer API the height-offset model emitter implements, the chain ceiling-support model files) are chosen when the game starts; nothing is read per frame.
  • Cushions exist only on 26.3, so the cushion seat fix applies there alone.
  • Requires Fabric API 0.152.2 or newer on 26.2 and the current Fabric API on 26.3.

For Minecraft 26.2 and 26.3 with Fabric (Fabric API required, Java 25).

This is an alpha. If anything misbehaves, please open a report at https://github.com/peetsamods/slabbed/issues with your game version, loader and Slabbed version.
This is a one-time refresh of the Minecraft 26.1.2 build. The last public 26.1 file was 0.4.2-beta.2; this release brings 26.1.2 up to the same behaviour as 0.6.1-alpha on 26.2, with no new features beyond that. The 26.1.2 line is frozen after this release unless demand returns.

  • Everything listed under 0.6.1-alpha+26.2 and the earlier 0.5.x / 0.6.0 releases now applies on 26.1.2: lowered fence posts, rails and redstone on lowered slabs, remembered heights through material swaps and block replacements, deep side placement, hanging decorations that keep their seat and never stall a chunk load, farmland and path handling, and the Terrain Slabs, Sodium and Lithium compatibility work.
  • Beds placed on lowered supports settle at the right height straight away on your screen. On 26.1.2 the game itself only adds the second half of a bed on the server, so Slabbed now adds it on the client too, the way 26.2 does; without that the bed flashed at full height until the server replied.
  • Sulfur spikes do not exist on 26.1.2, so that part of the stored-height coverage is absent here.
  • Requires Fabric Loader 0.19.5 or newer and Fabric API 0.155.3+26.1.2 or newer.

For Minecraft 26.1.2 with Fabric (Fabric API 0.155.3+26.1.2 or newer, Java 25).

This is an alpha. If anything misbehaves, please open a report at https://github.com/peetsamods/slabbed/issues with your game version, loader and Slabbed version.
One file now covers Minecraft 1.21.9, 1.21.10 and 1.21.11 on Fabric. Behaviour is unchanged from 0.6.1-alpha; this release is about running the same build on three game versions.

  • Minecraft 1.21.9 and 1.21.10 are now supported. The crosshair pick, the Lithium collision seam and the /slabdev permission check differ between those versions and 1.21.11, and the build chooses the right one when the game starts.
  • On 1.21.9 and 1.21.10, Sodium 0.7 (proven with 0.7.3) keeps exposed height-step faces visible, matching the Sodium 0.8 behaviour on 1.21.11.
  • Known gaps on 1.21.9 and 1.21.10: Better Block Entities 1.2.0 has a different structure and is not yet aligned with lowered placements; Countered's Terrain Slabs has no build for these two versions, so that compatibility is untested there.
  • Requires Fabric Loader 0.16 or newer and Fabric API 0.134.1 or newer.

For Minecraft 1.21.9, 1.21.10 and 1.21.11 with Fabric (Fabric API 0.134.1 or newer, Java 21).

This is an alpha. If anything misbehaves, please open a report at https://github.com/peetsamods/slabbed/issues with your game version, loader and Slabbed version.
One file covers Minecraft 1.21.6, 1.21.7 and 1.21.8 on Fabric. This is the first Slabbed release for these three versions; the behaviour is the 0.6.1-alpha feature set as shipped for 1.21.9 and newer.

  • Everything Slabbed does on 1.21.9–1.21.11 now applies here: placed blocks keep the height they were placed at, with targeting, outlines, collision, models, particles, block entities, hanging decorations, rails and redstone following that height.
  • Sodium 0.6 and 0.7 keep exposed height-step faces visible; Lithium 0.17 and 0.18 collide with lowered blocks where they are drawn; Better Block Entities 1.0–1.2 draws its chests, shulker boxes, bells and pots at the lowered height.
  • Copper chains do not exist on these versions, so the chain support work covers iron chains only.
  • Requires Fabric Loader 0.16 or newer and Fabric API 0.128 or newer (0.128.2 on 1.21.6, 0.129 on 1.21.7, 0.136 on 1.21.8 are the builds this release was proven with).

For Minecraft 1.21.6, 1.21.7 and 1.21.8 with Fabric (Fabric API 0.128 or newer, Java 21).

This is an alpha. If anything misbehaves, please open a report at https://github.com/peetsamods/slabbed/issues with your game version, loader and Slabbed version.
The first Slabbed build for Minecraft 1.21.5 on Fabric, with the same behaviour as the 1.21.6–1.21.8 file.

  • Everything Slabbed does on 1.21.6 and newer now applies on 1.21.5: placed blocks keep the height they were placed at, with targeting, outlines, collision, models, particles, block entities, hanging decorations, rails and redstone following that height.
  • Item frames and paintings remember their seat the same way; on 1.21.5 the remembered seat is stored per decoration type because the game keeps their synced data separate here. Saved worlds use the same key as every other version.
  • Better Block Entities and Create Fly have no 1.21.5 builds, so those compatibility hooks stay idle; Sodium 0.6 and Lithium 0.16 are supported in principle but were not exercised live for this build.
  • Requires Fabric Loader 0.16 or newer and Fabric API 0.128 or newer.

For Minecraft 1.21.5 with Fabric (Fabric API 0.128 or newer, Java 21).

This is an alpha. If anything misbehaves, please open a report at https://github.com/peetsamods/slabbed/issues with your game version, loader and Slabbed version.
First Slabbed build for Minecraft 1.21.4 (part of the promised 1.21.2–1.21.10 range). It carries the full feature set of the 1.21.1 line: placement heights are recorded where you aim and kept for good, lowered slabs support the same objects, rails slope to meet their neighbours, fence posts meet a nearby slab ceiling, hung decorations keep their seat.

Needs Fabric API 0.119.4 or newer (the renderer API this build draws lowered blocks through).

  • Pale moss carpet, new in 1.21.4, follows the same rules as the other carpets on lowered slabs.
  • The Minecart Improvements experiment is not covered: with it enabled, carts ride at vanilla height over lowered rails. Item frames keep the 1.21.1 line's behaviour (no render drop for frames without a remembered seat).
  • The 1.21.2 game refactors (block neighbour updates carry a wire orientation, minecart movement moved to a controller, redstone wire power moved to a controller, entity renderers work from render states, world events moved to their own handler) are followed where Slabbed hooks them; behaviour is unchanged.

For Minecraft 1.21.4 with Fabric (Fabric API 0.119.4 or newer, Java 21).

This is an alpha. If anything misbehaves, please open a report at https://github.com/peetsamods/slabbed/issues with your game version, loader and Slabbed version.
First Slabbed build for Minecraft 1.21.2 and 1.21.3, one file for both (1.21.3 is a two-fix hotfix of 1.21.2; part of the promised 1.21.2–1.21.10 range). It carries the full feature set of the 1.21.1 line: placement heights are recorded where you aim and kept for good, lowered slabs support the same objects, rails slope to meet their neighbours, fence posts meet a nearby slab ceiling, hung decorations keep their seat.

Needs Fabric API 0.114.1 or newer.

  • The experimental pale moss carpet, where enabled, follows the same rules as the other carpets on lowered slabs.
  • The Minecart Improvements experiment is not covered: with it enabled, carts ride at vanilla height over lowered rails. Item frames keep the 1.21.1 line's behaviour (no render drop for frames without a remembered seat).

For Minecraft 1.21.2 and 1.21.3 with Fabric (Fabric API 0.114.1 or newer, Java 21).

This is an alpha. If anything misbehaves, please open a report at https://github.com/peetsamods/slabbed/issues with your game version, loader and Slabbed version.
One file for Minecraft 1.20.3 and 1.20.4 (Fabric). It carries the full 0.6.1 feature set of the Fabric 1.21.1 line: placement heights are recorded where you aim and kept for good, lowered slabs support the same objects, rails slope to meet their neighbours, fence posts meet a nearby slab ceiling, hung decorations keep their seat.

Needs Fabric API 0.96 or newer (the 1.20.4 builds also run on 1.20.3) and Fabric Loader 0.16 or newer, on Java 17 or newer.

Differences on these versions:

  • Placement heights reach other players through Slabbed's own chunk sync message, because these versions' Fabric API cannot sync chunk data on its own. Heights arrive with the chunk and after every change.
  • Creative-mode placements record their height like survival ones (these versions skip the "use up the item" step for creative players; the height is recorded at the block-place event instead).
  • The decorated-pot insert particle follows the pot's stored height again (the particle exists here).
  • Bone-meal sparkles on a lowered block are not yet moved down with the block (the particle helper Slabbed hooks for that does not exist on these versions).

For Minecraft 1.20.3 and 1.20.4 with Fabric (Fabric API 0.96 or newer, Java 17 or newer).

This is an alpha. If anything misbehaves, please open a report at https://github.com/peetsamods/slabbed/issues with your game version, loader and Slabbed version.
First Slabbed build for Minecraft 1.20.1 (Fabric).

Needs Fabric API 0.92.x and Fabric Loader 0.16 or newer, on Java 17 or newer.

Differences on this version:

  • Placement heights reach other players through Slabbed's own chunk sync message, because this version's Fabric API cannot sync chunk data on its own. Heights arrive with the chunk and after every change.
  • Creative-mode placements record their height like survival ones. This version skips the "use up the item" step for creative players, and the height is now recorded at the block-place event instead, which every placement passes through.
  • No decorated-pot insert particle offset (the particle does not exist on this version).
  • Bone-meal sparkles on a lowered block are not yet moved down with the block (the particle helper Slabbed hooks for that does not exist on this version).

This is an alpha. If anything misbehaves, please open a report at https://github.com/peetsamods/slabbed/issues with your game version, loader and Slabbed version.
# 0.6.1-alpha+1.20.1-forge

## FIXED

  • Placing a fitting post beneath a lowered slab now uses the available space correctly.

## IMPROVED

  • Reduce repeated client work by avoiding copies of unchanged height-marker data.
  • Release labels now use major.minor.patch plus a maturity label, without numbered alpha or beta counters.

## NEW

  • Fence posts now meet a nearby slab ceiling across a half-block gap. The post keeps its placed height, and its visible connection can be targeted correctly.

  • Placing a fitting post beneath a lowered slab now uses the available space correctly.
  • Slabs keep their saved height when they change material without changing shape.
  • Direct block replacements clear the departed block's height, so a later placement cannot inherit it.
  • Deep side placements follow the aimed face and stop at the actual landing surface.
  • Placing supported blocks on farmland or dirt paths converts the support to dirt when appropriate; crops retain their farmland.
  • Tilling or shovelling a lowered block preserves its placed height.
  • Lowered campfire particles now rise from the visible fire.

## IMPROVED

  • Release labels now use major.minor.patch plus a maturity label, without numbered alpha or beta counters.

## NEW

  • Fence posts now meet a nearby slab ceiling across a half-block gap. The post keeps its placed height, and its visible connection can be targeted correctly.

# 0.6.1-alpha+1.21.1

## FIXED

  • Placing a fitting post beneath a lowered slab now uses the available space correctly.
  • Refresh the first rendered frame immediately after a predicted placement.
  • Correct Sable single-block object lighting above lowered solid surfaces — reported by @ALEILGOD ([#87](https://github.com/peetsamods/slabbed/issues/87)).

Grass flicker at chunk boundaries remains under investigation. Reported by @ALEILGOD in [#87](https://github.com/peetsamods/slabbed/issues/87); the issue remains open.

## Slabbed 0.5.2-alpha.28 — NeoForge 1.21.1

  • Fixed**

  • Wall-hung things from other mods can be placed again.** Slabbed remembers the height a painting or item frame was hung at by adding one bit of synced data to every wall-hung entity, but only vanilla paintings and item frames filled it in. A wall-hung entity from another mod, like Create: Simulated's Contraption Diagram, was left with a gap there, and the game refused to create it at all. The gap is now filled with an empty value, so those entities place and work normally; paintings and item frames are unchanged. Thanks to Sketano on GitHub for reporting this (GitHub issue #89).
  • Relatively Placed Blocks clusters sit on lowered blocks.** With Relatively Placed Blocks (including the NeoForge port), putting a second small block into a space swaps the first one for a combined block that holds both. On a lowered block that combined block was drawn at normal height, floating half a block above the slab. The space now keeps the height the first block was placed at, and the combined block is drawn and outlined at that height, including with Sodium. Without that mod nothing changes. Thanks to ALEILGOD on GitHub for reporting this (GitHub issue #87).

Alpha 28 is the next free number in the shared alpha series across all Slabbed lines.

## Slabbed 0.5.2-beta.4 — Forge 1.20.1

  • Fixed**

  • Rails now slope to meet the rail next to them.** A rail on a lowered block used to keep vanilla's grid slope, so where it met a rail on a full block the two didn't line up, and a ramp climbing onto a lowered rail floated half a block above it. Each straight rail now fits its slope to the rail it actually connects to: a lowered rail rises half a block to meet a flush neighbor, a ramp onto a lowered rail is only half as steep, and a lowered rail between two flush ones sits in a shallow V. The outline and targeting box follow the same slope. Curves are unchanged, and no stored height moves. Thanks to leon28012013-lang on GitHub for reporting this (GitHub issue #81).
  • Powered rails on lowered blocks take power from what touches them.** A powered rail on a slab sits one grid cell above the slab but is drawn inside the slab's cell, so a torch, wire or lever standing beside the slab (or a torch under it) never powered it, and an unpowered powered rail is a brake. It now listens at the cell it is drawn in, both for its own power and when it passes power along a chain.
  • Redstone dust carries power down a lowered half-step.** Dust on a slab is drawn half a block above the dust beside it. Power climbed that step but never came back down. Dust now reads the wire drawn in the cell beside it, so a line of dust runs down a staircase of slabs as well as up it. Dust on a top slab or on glowstone keeps vanilla's one-way step.

Beta 4 continues this line's beta series.

## Slabbed 0.5.2-alpha.25 — Fabric 1.21.1

Minecarts ride the drawn slope too.
  • Minecarts no longer stop dead on the first lowered rail.** A cart crossing onto a rail on a slab was dropped half a block at the cell edge and jammed against the next rail's support. It now rides the slope down and up.
  • Merging two slabs on an older build no longer lifts it.** Dropping a second slab into a lowered slab placed before this mod remembered heights made the merged block jump up half a step and stay there. It now keeps answering the way it did before you touched it.
  • Slab merging respects the same protections as placing a block.** Merging two slabs into one full block skipped the server's own checks (spawn protection, world border, build limits, adventure mode). It now asks the same questions the game asks before any other placement.

## Slabbed 0.5.2-beta.3 — Forge 1.20.1

  • Fixes**

  • Opening newly generated areas that contain paintings or item frames no longer freezes the game.** When a chunk finished generating, restoring the decorations saved in it asked for the chunk's blocks through a lookup that could wait for the chunk to finish loading, from inside the very load it was waiting on, so the server thread stalled for good. Slow terrain generation (big worldgen packs) made it far more likely. Restoring a decoration now only uses lookups that answer "not ready yet" instead of waiting, keeps any height already saved with it, and otherwise takes its height on a later tick once its area is actually there. Thanks to M1nus-max on GitHub for the clear diagnosis (GitHub issue #86), and to Haberno on GitHub for the original fix on the 1.21.11 line (GitHub issue #82).

Thanks to M1nus-max on GitHub for the clear diagnosis (GitHub issue #86), and to Haberno on GitHub for the original fix on the 1.21.11 line (GitHub issue #82). On this line the same change also covers decorations placed by structures on a world-generation thread, which reached the same waiting lookup.
  • Item frames that take their height only after a client has first seen them are now positioned from their attachment cell in the tracking packets, so the late height never moves the frame a whole block on the client.

## Slabbed 0.6.0-alpha.2 — Minecraft 26.3 (Fabric)

  • Fixed**

  • Fence and wall posts under top slabs.** Clicking a fence or wall onto the underside of a top slab did nothing: the post was asked to hang from the slab's visible underside, half a block up, and a post is taller than one block, so it would have poked into the slab and the placement was refused. An underside landing is now honored to the physical limit of its cell, stepping back toward grid height until the post fits, the same way a side placement already settles onto the real surface. Lanterns, chains and bars, which fit, are unchanged.

  • Redraw requests are no longer dropped when only stored-height data changes.** A block whose remembered height arrived without a block-state change, or whose placement prediction expired before a stored height replaced it, could keep stale geometry until something else redrew its section. Found while looking into the rendering report in GitHub issue #87 from ALEILGOD on GitHub; not yet confirmed to be that report's cause.

  • Compatibility**

  • Clicks land on Sable objects instead of passing through.** Sable reports a hit on one of its physics objects at the object's internal storage position, far from the player, so a plain distance comparison let any world block behind the object win the crosshair. Such hits are now compared with Sable's own distance. Thanks to ALEILGOD on GitHub for reporting this (GitHub issues #49 and #87).
  • Arrows and sight lines stop at Sable objects.** The same comparison now applies to projectile and line-of-sight clipping, and a ray that is re-marched past a lowered block also clips Sable's objects.
