Want to use this Mod with Programmer Art styled textures?

Check out MC Reshaped Programmer Art! A Resource Pack that supports and gives Programmer Art styled textures to all of my mods! Heavily recommended to use with other 1.14+ Programmer Art resource packs, my recommendation being the Programmer Art Continuation Project, as many of the textures in MCRPA were based directly on PACP textures

Treevamped is a mod that focuses on overhauling trees and forests in Minecraft! The mod was made with gameplay in mind, meaning that trees on average are a lot taller than normal, making it much easier to traverse through them either on foot or horseback, while also providing much more resources for your big projects. However, care was still given to make each tree visually appealing while retaining that good ol' Minecraft charm! Details about which mods were used for Screenshots are in the first image in the gallery

What this mod does specifcally is modify the Configured Feature JSONS for each tree. Some trees were simply made to generate around 3 to 4 blocks taller, so that the leaves generate high enough that the player shouldn't be constantly bumping their heads on them, or getting their horse stuck. Other trees were edited further through their Trunk Placers and Foliage Placers to change their appearance altogether. In some biomes, the vegetation distribution was also tweaked, so that forests have a wider mix of small to large trees. Lastly, this mod also adds a couple of its own Configured and Placed Features, those being much larger trees that generate rarely in their biome, like a Fancy Oak tree that's bigger than normal, or an occasional Mega Pine in a regular Taiga. If you're tired of Vanillas tiny forests then this is the right mod for you :)

Check out the World Remoulded Trailer below! Includes reworked Trees that are in Treevamped :)

Currently Implemented

  • Taller trees to prevent the player constantly bumping their head
  • More diversity in tree shape and sizes
  • Naturally generated 1x1 Dark Oak and Pale Oak trees
  • Cleaned up obnoxious Leaf Litter across the world, is now found in Dark Forests only (but of course can still be smelted from all leaves)
  • Many trees now have a fancy equivelent or something similar (think vanillas Fancy Oaks)
  • Many Ancient Tree structures, which are very rare, very giant versions of each tree. Will you preserve these natural wonders, or harvest them for their resources?

Plans for the Future

  • Add the ability to grow the 1x1 Dark Oak and Pale Oak trees from a single sapling Done!
  • Add the ability to grow the fancier trees from using any saplings excluding Spruce, Jungle, Dark and Pale Oak, in a 2x2 formation
  • Add a new type of wood called Beech which would be based off of different IRL Beech trees and be a variant of Birch. These Trees would replace the Birch Forest Oak Trees. Their leaves would share the texture of Birch leaves but have the ability to be tinted by biome. The planks will be grey to provide players a 1.21.11 alternative to the upcoming Poplar since this mod will not be made for versions beyond 1.21.11 Done!
  • Add a new type of wood called Maple which would be based primarily on Japanese Maples and replace the Cherry Grove Oak variant. It would have brilliant dark magenta leaves, and the plank colour would be salmon coloured Done!
  • Add a new (sort of) type of wood to Swamps, Rotten Oak wood. Doesn't have doors, buttons and whatnot, only planks, stairs and slabs, however that's because the wood has the unique ability of creaking and eventually breaking when stood on. The Wilted Leaves that make up the Swamp Oaks don't drop any saplings but the player can get more Rotten Wood by throwing any Log into water to get any variant of Rotten Log! (maybe on a timer to prevent accidental rot) Having second thoughts about this, still want to add a new wood to Swamps but feel like the Rotten Wood addition would be more suited for Sensible Inventory Tweaks, whenever I feel ready to tackle something as complex as that
  • Add an Ancient Swamp Oak tree
  • Add Boats, Chest Boats, Signs, Hanging Signs and Shelves of the new woods added
  • Add Programmer Art support Done!

Do note that as this is a mod, the Fabric API is a dependancy. Given the new growth spurt a lot of these trees had, I'd heavily recommend a tree felling mod/datapack such as Chopt by ItsJustMeChris to make life easier, but that's up to you.

I'd also personally like to shout out Better Trees by EMD123, JeanBetterTrees by jeancrafteo and Taller Forests by TheKingOfNerds for being the primary sources of inspiration behind this mod!

  • Fixed the titular issue of Ancient Tree structures spawning in water! (Except the Ancient Mangrove Tree which it's meant to anyway)
  • Many changes related to Trees and Biome Variants, such as;
  • Saplings grown in certain locations will result in a different tree variant
  • Dark and Pale Oaks can now be grown as a single sapling or a 2x2!
  • Oak, Birch and Beech now have new Leave Block variants that grown into their respective tree variants
  • Boreal Oak Leaves have the Oak Leaves texture, but are *not* biome tinted, and always retain a cool minty green colour. They drop seeds that grow into the Oak Trees found in Coniferous Forests and various Windswept biomes
  • The Vanilla Birch Leaves have been renamed to Silver Birch Leaves which belong to the column shaped Birch Tree variants. The new variant taking the name of Birch Leaves appear on the leaves of the more spread out Birch Trees which now have a small variant. Oh, and these leaves unlike the OG Birch Leaves are biome-tinted!
  • Lastly, Beech got a similar treatment to Birch, having a new Leaves variant for the wider canopy trees, which is a Copper coloured variant of the Beech leaves, fittingly named Copper Beach Leaves!
  • Fixed an issue with some of the Jungle trees leaves getting replaced with Vines
  • Gave all the Fancy Oaks more intricate Roots to match the Birch Trees

### Note, as of this update both the Client and the Server require the Mod Installed due to there now being new content
  • Added two new woodsets, Maple and Beech. Maple is Salmon coloured and Beech is grey, a Poplar alternative for 1.21.11
  • Beech replaces the Oak tree variants that were in the Birch Forests
  • Maple replaces the Oak tree variants that were in the Cherry Groves
  • Added a Mushroom Wood set obtained from Mushroom Stems which now drop themselves without Silk Touch. Mirrors Bamboo Wood
  • Added a Flowering version of Oak Leaves for Flower Forests, replacing the Flowering Azalea blocks they had. Can also be produced by using Bone Meal on regular Oak Leaves. This will turn the leaves persistent if they weren't already
  • Leaves now drop respective Tree Seeds instead of saplings. When planted, they plant a little sprout, which when bonemealed will turn into the regular Sapling. Purely a visual change only
  • Retextured Jungle and Acacia Saplings
  • Added a Painting and Music Disc dedicated to the mod

  • Further tweaked tree spacing (I think I'm happy with it this time lol)
  • Added smaller trees primarily for the sparser biomes, some reminiscent of vanilla trees, like the Small Oak tree
  • Reworked the regular Oak Tree to be a bit bushier than the standard Oak Tree
  • Added Snow Layers to the list of blocks saplings ignore when attempting growth, trees should be easier to grow in snowy biomes now
  • Added more Hybrid Tree types (like the Birch shaped Oak Trees for the Oak Forest), most notably
1. Cherry Oak Trees (with magenta leaves in World Remoulded)
2. Bushier, Fir-like Spruce Trees
3. A dedicated Mangrove tree variant for standard Swamps
4. Vice versa, a Swamp Oak variant (+ a Fancy Jungle variant) for Mangrove Swamps
5. Reshaped the foliage of small Jungle Trees

Additionally, I forgot to push the previous update to the GitHub, so the last update and this update have been pushed as one as the latest version

  • Since making all trees bigger on average, forests have gotten a bit too cramped, thus tweaked the spacing rules so they have a bit more room to breathe while still keeping forests lush
  • Tree placement overhauled, now more likely to generate in clusters. Less noticable in regular forests but Plains, Snowy Plains, Savannas and Sparse Jungles are now decently speckled with trees, implying the growth of new forests and bordering forest biomes much nicer
  • Massive Ancient Tree Overhaul, each tree now has 3 variants, excluding Birch, Spruce and Jungle which have 9 due to now utilising Jigsaw blocks to generate these trees taller, splitting the trunk and canopy into two halves
  • Ancient Oak, Birch, Acacia and Cherry Trees visually Overhauled
  • Birch Trees overhauled
  • Fancy Oaks have a slight bit of randomness with hanging leaves
  • Mega Oaks made a tiny bit smaller, still bigger than fancy Oaks, don't outshine Ancient Oaks
  • Spruce Trees tweaked
  • Mega Spruce Trees taller
  • Gave forests more foliage diversity including reincluding Oak back into Savannas
  • Taigas now have Birch Tress
  • Old Growth Taigas now have Super Birch Trees
  • Groves now have Fancy Oaks (basically now a snowy Windswept Forest)
  • Plains now have Birch
  • Snow Plains now have Birch and Oak
  • Meadow Trees more common
