The single-player world owner can always use it. * Server owners can change this with `villagerChatAIContextPermissionLevel`. ### How to use the context tabs * **Villager** - information that belongs only to the selected/nearest villager. * Good for personality details, history, secrets, goals, memories, habits, or a custom role. * Example: `You used to be a travelling cartographer. You are fascinated by ruined structures and distrust pillagers.` * Villagers now receive a small randomly generated background automatically if they do not already have one. * **Player** - information AI villagers should know specifically about the player using the editor. * Good for roleplay identity, titles, relationships, important past events, or facts that villagers should consistently remember. * Example: `John is the founder of this settlement and prefers being addressed as Mayor.` * **Village** - shared information about the current village. * Every AI villager in that village can use this context. * Good for settlement history, local rules, rivalries, landmarks, disasters, traditions, or ongoing events. * Example: `Oakvale was rebuilt after a raid. The old watchtower north of town is considered haunted.` * **World** - global context and instructions shared by AI villagers everywhere. * Use this for information or behaviour that should apply across the entire world, rather than to one villager, player, or village. * Good for custom world lore, modpacks, server settings, roleplay rules, factions, historical events, or defining how villagers should generally behave. * Example: `This world is a frozen post-apocalyptic kingdom. Villagers treat redstone technology as ancient machinery and never mention the real world.` * The World tab controls MCA's global ChatAI system prompt, so anything written here can influence every AI villager. * For information specific to one character or location, use the **Villager**, **Player**, or **Village** tabs instead. The effective AI context is layered together as **World → Villager → Player → Village**, alongside MCA's normal personality, traits, relationships, environment and other conversation information. ## Villagers * Added more varied automatically generated backgrounds for AI villagers, including personal history, skills, habits, preferences, keepsakes, goals and beliefs. * Improved **Villager ↔ Zombie Villager conversion**. * MCA identity and persistent data are preserved more reliably through infection and curing. * ChatAI villager context is preserved through conversion. * Conversion behaviour now avoids several UUID/data-transfer edge cases. ## Pathfinding * Improved ladder/climbable pathfinding performance. * Fixed villagers oscillating or behaving erratically while using ladders. * Simplified ladder node handling and reduced unnecessary pathfinding work. ## Skin Library * Fixed Library authentication in sandboxed environments. * Improved the Library login/authentication flow. * Improved Library Editor performance and internal loading behaviour. * Added paging improvements for submissions and likes. * Improved profession-name fallbacks. * Fixed blacklist handling. ## Mod compatibility * Fixed compatibility with **Smarter Farmers** and some other mods. * Additional internal compatibility and cleanup work. # 7.7.30 * Improved Ladder navigation. * Fixed crash with archers being on horses. # 7.7.29 * Synced patreon supporters * Added modded villages support for Destiny Screens * Any structure which contains the minecraft villages tag or contains the name village is present * Hovering over the Destiny screen gives you the mod it's coming from! # 7.7.28 * Fixed villagers crowding around occupied beds / behaving weird. * Existing affected villagers may need Locations -> Home set again, or the affected beds broken and replaced. # 7.7.27 * Villagers can now recognise ladder nodes and climb and descend them, even when they're following you! * Previously was only in the alpha version. # 7.7.26 * Minor changes to gifts # 7.7.25 * Bouquets (flowers) can now be treated as gifts to your partner! * Improved guard behavior when players attack villagers. * Guards now keep chasing attackers long enough to deliver their warning hits. * Guards now warn, attack and pardon more consistently based on the player's warning level. * Guard warning dialogue no longer stacks with the normal "ouch" dialogue on the same hit. * Improved archer guards in combat. * Archers now draw and fire bows more reliably. * Archer arrows should no longer be blocked by normal hurt immunity during fast combat. * Left-handed villagers still look left-handed, while bows and weapons stay in the correct hand for Minecraft's combat checks. * Guards without a home village can now wander instead of standing idle. * Villagers and guards can now visibly eat food to recover health when they are safe and out of combat. * Improved villager movement around awkward decorative blocks such as lanterns, which could previously confuse pathfinding. * Added a new MCA pathfinding tag so modpacks and addons can mark custom blocks with unusual collision shapes. * Added config options for extra collision checks while villagers pathfind. * The broader collision-check option is off by default, but can help modpacks with many custom block shapes. * Fixed `bountyHunterInterval <= 0` crashing * Fixed some mods breaking lighting rituals on fire. # 7.7.18-beta.10 * Improved smart selection filtering in the polymorph UI: the generic **House** option is automatically filtered out if **Big House** is also matched, preventing unnecessary choice prompts when scanning. * Empty icons don't render as graveyard anymore, House option now has an icon. * Improved building removal logic. # 7.7.18-beta.9 * The **Ride Mount** button on the villager interaction screen now changes to **Dismount** if the villager is riding something, making it easy to get them down. * Fixed a bug on dedicated servers where changing a villager's mood, infection, traits, personality, or relationship hearts in the editor wouldn't save. * Improved how villager skins and clothing registries are loaded behind the scenes to be cleaner and more flexible. * Added a **Music Store** building. * Villagers can now visit the Music Store when they are feeling sad. * This helps raise their happiness, similar to how the inn works. * Improved overlapping building detection. * When multiple building structures overlap, you can now choose which one should be used. * Improved villager AI performance. * Villagers now do less unnecessary work every tick. * Large villages should have fewer lag spikes and smoother server performance. * Guard enemy scans are now cheaper, running only for villagers actively guarding, following a player, or fighting ( non-combat villagers skip this scan entirely to save performance). * Villagers are less likely to waste pathfinding work when moving around the village. * Villagers should no longer forget homes or jobs just because a path search briefly failed. * Equipment checks for guards and archers are now cached, reducing repeated work. * Villager health bonus updates are now cached instead of being recalculated every tick. * Fixed an issue where some villager movement state updates were running far more often than intended. * Fixed excessive repeated max-health modifier updates on villagers. * Fixed some expensive villager walking logic that could retry too many times in one tick by adding a retry cooldown after failed attempts. # 7.7.18-beta.8 * Villagers should stop floating in passenger seats such as boats. * Baby nametags are correctly adjusted * Villagers should be able to ride any entity that is rideable, including modded entities. * Fix Mood, Infection Progress and hearts not being editable due to recent modifications. # 7.7.18-beta.7 * Villagers should stop having their trades reset. * Backported pathfinding maluses and pathfinding distance fixes. * Please report any issues on the GitHub Issues page or the Discord server, backing up your world is always recommended! # 7.7.18-beta.6 * Removed old Head category from Destiny Screen. * Fixed eye layers rendering when you're invisible. * Added a NO_AGING trait ("No Aging") that prevents villagers from automatically growing up or aging over time. This trait has a spawn chance of 0% and is only accessible/configurable via the Villager Editor (MCA Debug Book/Item). # 7.7.18-beta.5 * Added a configuration option to choose the headstone/grave type spawned when a villager dies. * Fixed multiplayer issues when editing villagers and loading custom skin data. * Internal networking changes to hopefully make multiplayer work properly. * As a result, generally especially in multiplayer sessions, UI changes are faster. * Fixed library clothing previews hiding legacy hair. * Selecting clothing generally or picking an outfit no longer hides hair. * This was done initially because of the new hair system, however, if the hair overlaps with your character, you can just select the bald hair option in the hair screen. * Prevented babies, children, and non-spouse relatives from flirting, kissing, or accepting romantic items (bouquets, engagement rings). * Age-locked the `Flirty` personality so it cannot be assigned to babies, toddlers, or children. * Added personality re-randomization when villagers age up to allow true character development and natural trait changes. * - So children will change their personality. * Added an INFERTILE trait, villagers now have a chance to be infertile. * If you'd like to remove the trait, you can do so in the MCA Debug Book. * Experimental JourneyMap compatibility. * Unknown trait doesn't show up anymore. * Spouses no longer count as biologically related. * Fixed `building_types` block tag resolution — tags like `#minecraft:candles` and `#minecraft:water` now correctly match blocks during building scans. * Previously, all data-pack block tags were silently ignored. * For datapacks, you can now add in all tags including fluids! # 7.7.18-beta.4 * Backports/fixes from 26.1.2 * Guards now fight while you're following them.
