## [1.4.4] - August 30th, 2026 A major conversation UI update focused on readability, smoother interactions, and better accessibility across MCA, chat, and Townstead. ### Added * Redesigned response panel with wrapped text, numbered choices, clearer highlighting, page controls, and support for oversized answers. * Keyboard controls for selecting and navigating responses, including number keys, Numpad, arrows, Home/End, Page Up/Down, Enter, and Space. * Mouse-wheel navigation and clickable previous/next page buttons. * Numeric chat selection without broadcasting the entered number. Multi-digit choices such as `10` are also supported. * Gold, high-contrast, and classic themes, plus configurable opacity, speaker-name accents, sound volume, and motion effects. * New animations, UI sounds, selection feedback, and accessibility narration. * Optional matching number badges and shortcuts for Townstead’s conversation screen. ### Improved * Chat now displays every available response instead of hiding choices after the first five. * Recognized villager names appear bold and gold for easier reading. * Long questions, multi-line answers, custom fonts, and different screen sizes now lay out correctly. * Keyboard and mouse focus behave more naturally, with selected rows gently expanding without shifting the menu. * Responses lock immediately after selection to prevent accidental duplicate answers. * English and Portuguese-Brazilian localization has been expanded for the new interface. ### Fixed * Fixed custom fonts causing overlapping text. * Fixed long conversations extending beyond the safe screen area. * Fixed stale conversation data sometimes rejecting a valid response after switching villagers. * Fixed stationary mouse pointers overriding keyboard navigation. * Fixed unnecessary sounds and narration playing when the selected response had not changed. ### Compatibility * Network protocol remains **2**, with no changes to dialogue outcomes or server authority. * MCA’s original interface remains available as a fallback if the enhanced UI cannot load. * Townstead remains completely optional.
